China believes that America is [rightly, in their view] on a long overdue trend downward to cessation from existing as any significance in the world.

They view themselves as rising to rule the world including taking over Taiwan, AUSTRALIA and all other areas nearby. They view themselves as taking over the USA in at least geopolitical terms if not literally on our own shores as well. THEY VIEW IT AS THEIR RIGHT, THEIR DESTINY AND THEIR DUTY TO THE CHINESE CULTURE AND NATION. They view it as particularly their right to correct the wrongs of the unequal treaties and a thousand other slights they perceive themselves to have suffered lo these many years.

They view the Russians as worse barbarians than us. But they see themselves as so much wiser, smarter, more skillful in the arts of war as to eventually trounce and use all of Russia and all of the USA and indeed even the rest of the world as their serfs, their slaves during the CHINESE CENTURY--INDEED, THE CHINESE MILLENIUM.

People asserting such things are not smoking pot. They are soberly asserting what they believe to be true. And many of them are in positions of military and political power. I've talked to them myself. And I've heard of several more believing the same sort of thing.

In fact, many 'men in the street' believe the same thing though they might argue about specifics and methods and timelines.
