have poohpoohed fission suitcase nukes.
AND
I have felt every time and from the beginning that they are simply wrong.
There IS a serious nuke threat that we will suffer from. Have just lone felt it--even before 9/11.

Those suitcase nukes have been on lots of folks' minds (including mine) since it was first announced they were missing.
I don't know enough about them to know if they're still usable or not, but have felt that whoever has them may not know any more than I do. They may try to use them and even if they don't have as much "punch" now, I feel it could still cause a ruckus among the population with the fear factor.
The best we can do is hope the authorities will be able to foil attacks, and be prepared in case they can't. We've stockpiled food and other supplies, just to be on the safe side. That never hurts any way. It could come in handy in case of a natural disaster, too...... tornado, ice storm, earthquake, etc. Being prepared never hurts. :-)
