I'm confused. I very carefully scanned the entire sidebar on the news/activism page. This thread is not there, at all, period. How are people finding it (who have not been here before) and why is it giving them such grief?

I'll guess that some posters just sit on the Recent Posts venue and constantly refresh, so this thread keeps popping up.
Just like the Breaking News Nazis who dump all over rookie posters for the deadly sin of Topic Drift.

If you go to the "Latest Posts" page, you can set it to be by Threads or Messages. Some people use the Messages view, which lets them see which threads are getting replied to recently. Every time someone replies to this thread, it goes right back to the top of that listing, and new people can see it there. (This is why some people reply to a thread with BTTT, meaning "Bump to the top").
