There may have been no need for US SOF teams to violate Iranian airspace, if we think about it. There have been reported tons of materiel delivered into Iran after the Bam earthquake. There has been reported some cooperation between US and Iranian cadres.

In addition, a C-17 Globemaster III from Charleston AFB, S.C., delivered personnel and equipment to Kerman. News reports said U.S. airmen and Iranian soldiers worked side by side to unload the giant airlifters."
