Suggest stacking of emergency items ready to go in case of the need to make a quick exit (got to looking at our stuff and it was scattered all over the house). I put blankets, food and small portable stove in our backpacks. Am very thankful we bought camping gear this past summer. You never know. Leaves - yukky!
After taking 10 minutes earlier just finding my car keys to go to the grocery store, I realized that I'm still kind of scattered. Backpack is a good idea, as is the animal carrier. Going on my list of things to gather now, MamaDearest! Thanks!

A wise MD pastor friend at my church 30 years ago taught such preparedness. They had suitcases for that level of eventuality as well as backpacks packed and ready.
Both husband and wife are now in Glory having never used them. But I still think it's a wise thing--and all the more so with each passing day.
