My roommate thinks I'm paranoid because I'm prepared for a disaster (natural or man-made). I think she gets irritated with me becuase I won't let for 'forget' about the threats we face. She's a total sheeple/ostritch with her head in the sand. She won't talk about it or even acknowledge there is a threat. I feel sorry for her. She asked me sometimes if I know something that she doesn't. My reply is Yes I do.
In my mind, it would be foolish to know of pending threats and not to prepare for them, but that's the why she goes about life. Hey, who am I to judge?
While I am prepared for any eventuality, these threats don't cause me to lose sleep or change my routine. They are a bit worrisome, but because I'm ready for anything, I don't stress that much. I have supplies, plans, and like minded friends whom I can rely on. All in all, I'm a pretty lucky guy.
