Could the yellow thing be a solar eclipse? (donning my foil hat) A large volcanic eruption would cause a cloud of ash that would obscure the sun. A nuclear explosion would too.
The yellow thing/solar eclipse does show the corona of the sun.
The solar flare part of the picture is in reference to the odd occurrences we had last year (at a time when the sun is actually supposed to be in a quiet period) and the NE Blackout, IMHO. Are they trying to say that they could or will take out the power/communications of the U.S.???

I haven't heard it mentioned much on this thread, but if they do have a nucler device of some sort, they might set if off in a strategic location hoping that the EMP would take out power/communications/computer somewhere in the U.S.
