Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

Monday, November 3, 2003

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Nemo1usa had been awol for nearly three weeks. Spoofchicken has been around during that period. What do you make of these two (or maybe they are one)? Was Nemo1usa the person who caused all the commotion because he, she, or it "typed" with an accent, and refused to disclose his country of origin?

"9:57AM DOLLAR GETS LIFT BY UNSUBSTANTIATED RUMOR OF BIN LADEN CAPTURE-TRADERS -- Reuters"

Now wouldn't THAT just put a small dent in their plans!!!!!!!!! If it's true this thread immediately goes to 65,000+

I'm not saying that will end the threat but would be a big notch on W's belt. : )

If that happened, he'd win New York and New Jersey for sure.

Yes, we need to get him too. They haven't said who they got the other day, but the Paki's did say one of them was on the FBI's most wanted list. Good news. I hope they don't release who it was, until they get all the info they can.

ANything on any of those websites this am?

Dean would have more of a meltdown than he did the other night if we get BL. They would probably have to come up with that blatantly false story about W hiding BL to win the election.

It's quite possible that he will be captured soon, it's been too long. People said Saddam was dead or that we would never find him, but we did!!

Here's an update on the Saudi Prince kidnapping:

Saudi Royal Says He Was Abducted Over Criticism

Jan. 22 — LONDON (Reuters) - An outspoken Saudi prince said on Thursday he was under house arrest in Riyadh after Saudi agents drugged and abducted him from Switzerland because of his criticism of corruption and calls for democracy in the kingdom.

Prince Sultan bin Turki bin Abdel-Aziz, a nephew of King Fahd, told Reuters by telephone he was drugged during a meeting in Geneva last June with two government ministers, then found himself in a Riyadh hospital after 10 days in coma.

Saudi government officials declined to comment. Saudi analysts say Prince Sultan's public campaign to curb the powers of the royal family has been a source of deep embarrassment to the kingdom's rulers.

"I was between hospital and my house for the last six months. Now I'm at home, but they (police) are outside," the prince, who has often attacked corruption in Saudi Arabia on Arab satellite channels, said by telephone.

Details of the incident have been posted on the Web Site of a London-based Saudi dissident group, the Movement for Islamic Reform in Arabia (www.yaislah.org).

He said police guards had a month ago allowed him use of a telephone but warned him "not to do anything that would upset them." Prince Sultan said he had had no contact with any government officials about his position since his return.

"I can go to my mother's house or to the mosque, but that's it. I can't leave Riyadh or the country," he said.

"I was outside the kingdom for over a year, between Germany and Switzerland, talking about politics. I'm not against the regime -- I'm part of it, as a nephew of King Fahd -- but I'm against corruption and I want a democratic country," he said.

Prince Sultan said he was snatched out of Switzerland after the Minister of Islamic Affairs Saleh al-Sheikh and Minister of State Abdel-Aziz bin Fahd, son of the king, called him to a meeting at a royal residence in Geneva.

"One left to the bathroom and the other answered the phone, while five men came in and drugged me," he said, accusing the Swiss authorities of complicity in the incident.

International and domestic criticism of the Islamic kingdom, dominated by the royal family, has increased since the September 11, 2001, attacks focused attention on religious extremism. Most of the attackers were Saudi men.

The world's biggest oil exporter, facing a wave of militant violence and growing economic challenges, has embarked on a program of cautious reform despite fierce opposition from some powerful religious figures.

Just a reminder of one of the demands that was sent last month; The release of the prisoners that we know that you know we know in gitmo. Or words to that effect anyway. I found that statement to be intriguing.

Re #13,575

>> not going into NYC on Monday, 2/2 <<

That's a tough call. Not sure what to say other than to listen to your instincts. If your really uncomfortable with going into NYC on that day and you don't have to, I'd say stay home. If you have important business, you really have no choice but to go.

I know this comment really doesn't help, but that's the way I'd deal with it.

Honestly, if it were me, and the trip were already planned and paid for, I'd say my prayers, take a deep breath, and go enjoy my trip

The worst thing we can do is live our lives in fear.

It really isn't an issue of money as the company is buying the ticket. If it were my dollars, i'd definately go because it costs $4000 to fly Business class to Hong Kong from JFK on Asiana Airlines.

I still intend to go however. Mostly for pragmatic reasons. If there is an attack and it's not Teotwawki, I'll ultimately make it back home. If it's teotwawki, I probably won't have a home to go back to and if nothing happens, all the better.

I genuinely don't think an attack is going to happen. That said, if one were to occur, the Feast of Bahrim would be an ideal time for these moon-god worshippers. Fits right into this death cult's goals.

I don't live in fear, I live in awareness. There's a difference. I also don't understand how everyone else can be sated on the blurbs the talking heads give. I need detail. Lots of it!

Your comment actually does help. I probably will go with my instincts which tell me that something could very well be planned, but I tend to think it's probably not nuclear.

I don't think it's nuclear either. Too much high tech maintenance and too short a shelf live for many of the components.

IF anything does happen, it'll probably be bio or dirty bomb. Bio is the most worrisome.

IMHO, Smallpox would be nasty, but manageable for the Industrialized World. The sad fact is that it would completely ravage the Third World. Hopefully the Jihadists uderstand this and have given up on the idea of going down that particular 'slippery slope'.

Smallpox and some of the other potential diseases could indeed be very nasty even for the industrialized world but in all probability they could eventually be brought under control.

You're right that it would ravage the Third World, which is where a lot of these people come from after all. Even in many of their oil-rich countries the wealth is extremely concentrated, with relatively little trickling down to the non-oil infrastructure or to the common man on the street. Almost always when the ruling classes want top-rate medical care they find some place in the West because there's nothing in their own countries.

I wouldn't give the Jihadis too much credit for understanding all this however. Many of them know about the Koran and terrorism and not much else; even of those who do, there are often amazing gaps in their knowledge. For example, although the 9/11 hijackers don't seem to have broadcast much (if any) of their operational plans, they took some huge risks that revealed startling gaps in their knowledge of covert tradecraft. Since they were coached by the people back in Afganistan that means that this lack of knowledge must be organization-wide, not just one or two of the peons. Presumably many of these deficiencies have now been corrected, but these people aren't necessarily the sharpest knives in the drawer if you catch my drift. They're just armed and very motivated.

....... and there's also the question of whether they'd care if they did understand. If they think that it will bring down the US they'd probably think losing half or 3/4 of their own people would be a fair trade.

Seriously. These guys play for keeps.
