How is Missie. well thnankfully she is eating pretty well and she gets up and goes to her litter box and comes out for lovies.
I spoke to the vet this afternoon and they are going back to the lab where the results were from since they seem to think ( the lab) that it is a fibrosarcoma from injection site. Well it is not an injection site..it is near her throat. she is hyperthyroid so they are going to look at it again and determine if it could be related to the thyorid which I think is what Missie's doctors think...in any case, the oncologist at the labs and the pathologist are going to see what this may be and then suggest a course of therapy. If they do surgery it will be what they call debulking which means getting as much tumor as possible. They can't go for wide margins because the neck area is so small. but it they get the lump out and find thyroid tissue in it then they know it was a thyroid cancer and will indicate what kind of therapy should follow if any. Radiation is out of the question here since there is no facility here. It would mean trips to UC Davis which is a long trip. The other is chemo and it would be a once a week thing and Missie would have to be under sedation as it is I V given..and could she stand this.
the interesting thing is that Taco's literature said he should have radiation and or chemo and he has had neither and is doing fine.
So I am hopeful that we can do something for her. In the meantime, I am praying to a few favorite saints and asking for a miracle.
