Swervie, I thought they were going to raise it. Reads like they are just studying it. Oh well, shows what I know.
To: grannie9
No, they are not the curtain lights. These are fiber optic and look like little bundles of weird hair. They stick them in the fronds and the little wires cascade down. BUT, the tube lights look good in the plam fronds too.

Really... I'm going to have to look for those.. Maybe if they don't take up much storage room Al will let me buy some.. ;) Of course our palms are so high now..that means climbing to put them up.. Did I tell you that Al fell out of a neighbors palm tree last winter? Ayuh.. and he was a mess.. At least he could have fallen out of one of ours.. Had to be a single neighbor lady's palm....
My Hero... !!!! lol.
To: Letitring
LOL, guess everyone is reading about the Hugin and ROV's. The History Channel will air it in early 2004 during their "Deep Sea Detectives" series. Hum, I thought it was the Discovery Channel. Guess that was that thing last year with the BBC.
I really should keep up with this stuff more, about all I ever ask is, "well, did you have a good time." :)
To: grannie9
OHhhhhhhh no. Not in the neighbor Ladies'. Just what was Al doing up in that tree? roflol. No, don't ask, some things are best left alone. :)
To: grannie9
Gran, Pupster said, whereever he went, he's seen these lighted trees in his area. Maybe he'll post some pictures for us. :) It won't hurt to ask, huh?
To: Letitring
He uses his chain saw and big long extension ladder to keep them trimmed.. He didn't notice the sand on her driveway and fell right in the middle of that extension ladder with his chest and bent it right in half.. Thank goodness the neighbor lady is a nurse and drove him straight to the hospital, where he spent the next six hours..
Sheeeeesh... and she has a full grown grandson and a son in law.. The things I have to put up with.. lol.
To: Letitring; catpuppy
I don't think the Pup posts pics, does he? He only likes to be in them..and usually doing something baaaaad.. ( and I don't mean with bears..)
To: grannie9
gasp ...
To: Letitring; everyone
This is exciting to me. A few years back, we had the chance to hear Robert Ballard, in Woods Hole, MA., and now meet up with underwater explorers from the Gulf of Mexico.
Gran, you and BigFella should pop over for drinks, once you get settled in the FL this fall.
Cheers guys.

Men are such odd creatures, aren't they? It's amazing the lenghts they go to in order to see things. roflmbo. Had that been YOU up that tree, you would never hear the end of it. Sounds like Al avoided a serious hurting. :)
To: lodwick
Ballard is awesome. Loddy, it is a small world sometimes, isn't it? :)
To: Letitring
Yeah.. I trip and stub my toe between the beds and you should hear what he calls me.. :( Of course that's on my way back.............
To: lodwick
Loddy, don't know if you recall, but a couple of years ago I told Gran some friends of mine were up her way. That's what they were doing at Wood's hole. They hang out in that place in SOuth Florida too. I can't recall it's name. Really a Southern version of Woods' Hole.
To: Letitring
Harbour Branch. I remembered. Mostly go with the Norweigen folks and Woods' Hole when things go reallllll wrong. :)
To: grannie9
LOL. I can imagine. Odd creatures, very odd. :)Gran, Bess says she is going to type out her receipe for artichoke and crabmeat dip for you to take with you to Florida. Said she'll get it posted to you later in the day. :) That is if you want it. (Gran, it's to die for, wonderful out of this world, wonderful).
To: Letitring
Okay folks, I've got to go to rehab. I'll be back this afternoon, if I can. :) CATPUPPY, SMOOCHES. :)
To: Letitring
Would that be one of the University of South Florida's locations...maybe St.Petersburg?
They've got a world-class department of oceanography and related studies.
Off to fight my house.
Cheers.
