Mayor Maria Pacheco of Kerman, California, was alleged to have followed and harassed a random man on Oct. 14 because she mistakenly thought he was an ICE agent.
Fresno resident Eric Bridges accused Pacheco, who is listed as “non-affiliated” but was endorsed by Democrats, of pursuing him for 25 minutes to his sister’s house because she thought he was an ICE agent, GV Wire reported.
Bridges detailed the encounter in a TikTok video and filed a formal complaint on Oct. 19.
“I am not, nor have I ever been, an employee of Immigration and Customs Enforcement or the Department of Homeland Security,” Bridges, who says that he is a hairstylist, claimed in his formal complaint.
While driving to his sister’s house, Bridges noticed an orange car following him closely and taking pictures of his vehicle, the complaint alleged.
Concerned by the orange car’s behavior, Bridges parked near a park when the orange vehicle then proceeded to block him into his parking spot, the complaint continued.
After being encircled and photographed, Bridges drove away, and the orange car followed him all the way to his sister’s house.
Following a verbal confrontation where the driver accused Bridges of “looking like ICE,” Bridges started filming the encounter; the driver then flipped Bridges off and drove away.
Bridges reviewed his footage and realized Pacheco was driving the orange car, his complaint read.

What kind of mayor interferes with law enforcement? Should such a person be imprisoned for abetting?
Her town, Kerman, is mostly illegals...

In these situations, you invoke federal civil rights law. She seemed to be acting in her capacity as Mayor (as misguided as it was). Her harassment of him could be alleged to have been conducted under “color of law”. I would advise him to go for it. These people need to feel some lawfare.

I wonder if she owns any weapons? I wonder if she had any guns on her person or in her car that day? I wonder why he didn’t knock her teeth down her throat to protect himself?

Not correct. There’s nothing in this fact pattern to suggest she acted while holding herself out as mayor. Even if she did, so what? I’m constantly wailing on this forum that just because you have a cause to action against someone doesn’t mean you’ve hit the lottery. He’d need to plead and prove damages. I make this as a $5K nuisance value case though, as I said, he doesn’t have a civil rights claim at all
Sounds like a good horsewhipping might help to straighten out Pacheco.
