I am reading al sorts of stuff about John Thune and I do not know what is true and what is false. Hearing he will not take up the the Save Act until it is to late to implement it for this election. There is a provision calling for Voter ID in all Federal elections in National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that saved the House yesterday. Thune will either delay of strip it. Let him know it needs to be passed NOW before recess.

I don’t trust Thune for a lot of reasons.

But, unfortunately, he has not yet lost any election. He is not one of those.

If you're not from their district or state, they don't want to hear from you.

And if you are from their district or state, they still won't listen to you.

Don't waste your time calling or sending a letter.

It will be interesting to see if he is covering for McConnell.

Thune is deaf. He is also sicker than Mitch McConnell. But he is not the problem. I have written to my Senators and contacted their offices dozens of times, so they just aren’t listening. Thune is taking the heat for the rest of these lowlifes.

Agreed. I don’t believe McConnell is dead and I don’t believe he’s braindead. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not much better than that. So yes, it will be interesting when that finally comes out.

But wanting to force a replacement is risky. Anybody who thinks a guaranteed Republican in a statewide special election where a Democrat was just elected governor is whistling past the graveyard. Better to marshal our efforts on winning the general election. Also, Beshear has publicly stated if McConnell has to be replaced that he will challenge the special election law as unconstitutional both at the state and federal level, and he might win that challenge. So we’d get a Democrat.

Be careful what you wish for.

Thune needs to feel like Chuckie with AOC breathing on him.

Between Tillis, Cassidy, and Cornyn I don’t see how he can get to the 50.

Thune has stated multiple times that there are not enough GOP votes to pass the full SAVE Act. Apparently, the specific part of that is language that would limit the use of absentee ballots. Personally, I think that's the most important part, but some GOP Senators appear to oppose it because they think people like the convenience.

In any case, Thune - much like the Turtle - won't bring something controversial to a vote unless they think they may actually have the votes.

I think that's exactly it. McConnell did that all the time to build loyalty/leverage he could later use to win close votes. I think that's how he kept Garland off the Supreme Court, and how he got Kavanaugh and ACB through very close votes. He pressures those Senators with the "I protected you on that other issue, and now you owe me on this vote." Obviously, that only works on votes where the Senator in question is wavering and subject to pressure.

Whether the strategy of protecting Senators from criticism to collect markers that are later called in is obviously debatable.

Since people could get a photo ID with the required documents, bringing sufficient documents should also be sufficient.

Hearing he will not take up the the Save Act until it is to late to implement it for this election.

It is already too late, way way too late.

The purpose of SAVE at this point is to show and reveal to all, including as many unaware people as possible, the fecklessness of Thune and Congress.

Note that under the current fraud-soaked voter rolls (think NJ), many primaries have already selected bogus "winners". We are weeks away from primaries here in MA, with early and mail-in voting.

The only way at this point is Trump declaring a National Emergency with respect to elections and then issue EO's to facilitate the would-be goals of SAVE. The NE would be under the NEA, with Trump as CIC. If done as POTUS, the NE and EO's would be shredded by leftist judges. If done as CIC, the midterms would necessarily be postponed (I know, unbelievably and unprecedented) by 6-24 months.

“some GOP Senators appear to oppose it because they think people like the convenience”

It can be 20 miles to the nearest town in South Dakota.

Of course, people have to buy groceries in South Dakota too.

My neighbors drove 60 miles in New Mexico to get groceries when the lived in that state.

He’s a deep state RINO. He doesn’t give 2 chits about the SAVE act or the country. He just wants to retain his seat at the uniparty power table.

Thune’s deep state Masters have a lot more power over him than most people can imagine. No doubt he is being blackmailed, and threatened. They totally own him.

Thune is not a leader and never has been. He recently seems to have the slackjaw effect like Biden.
