Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s State Department released a sweeping 99-page report on Monday portraying communist Cuba as the Western Hemisphere’s foremost engine of Marxist subversion, arguing that the island nation has spent decades cultivating revolutionary movements inside the United States and across the globe.
The report, released alongside a statement from the State Department, casts the Castro regime not simply as a geopolitical adversary, but as the ideological nucleus of what it describes as the modern radical Left.
“For more than six decades, the Cuban regime has been the leading sponsor of radical leftism and Third Worldism in the United States,” Rubio wrote on X. “The State Department is exposing the full history of Cuban espionage and subversion in our country. The American people deserve to know.”
The document, which reflects a longstanding priority of Rubio’s foreign policy agenda, argues that Cuba’s greatest success has not been military or economic, but ideological. “For nearly seven decades, the Cuban regime has waged a sustained campaign of subversion against the United States,” the report states. “It is a campaign that has infiltrated the highest reaches of the U.S. government, recruited and cultivated generations of American activists, backed an unprecedented wave of Left-wing terrorism on American soil, and carried out one of the most durable and damaging foreign intelligence penetrations in American history.”

If Nixon had won the 1960 election, Cuba would be a vacation paradise today.
Instead, it’s a communist hellhole.
“The Fabian Society was named—at the suggestion of Frank Podmore—in honour of the Roman general Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus (nicknamed Cunctator, meaning the “Delayer”). His Fabian strategy sought gradual victory against the superior Carthaginian army under the renowned general Hannibal through persistence, harassment, and wearing the enemy down by attrition rather than pitched, climactic battles.”

“Internationalism, illustrated by the Bolshevik and by the men to whom all countries are alike provided they can make money out of them, is to me repulsive.”

If Rubio thinks Cuba poses some kind of threat to the US he’s an idiot. He’s operantly trying to gin up another regime change war. No thanks. Let the Cuban people overthrow their regime if that’s what they want, it’s none of our business.
Send mandamni to Cuber.
You ain't just whistlin' Dixie: 100% correctomundo!
Lol. Shades of JFK...Cuber, Indier.
You got it.
In the grand scheme of things cuba is nothing more than a closed, abandoned Kmart. To say it could have any impact on anything in USofA is just ludicrous. They can't keep their own power and water running and he wants you to believe they are a threat to anything?
Crazy times indeed.
The problem with Cuba, is that the demographics of the island have changed dramatically since the Revolution, if you catch my drift. It ain’t Ricky Ricardo’s Cuba now.

So where do you think all those millions of starving Cubans are going to be demanding entry, as what is left of the “economy” collapses to Haiti level?
Millions of starving refugees in the Western Hemisphere is a concern of ours.
Regime change in Cuba is in the interest of the USA and the world. It is very difficult to overthrow a totalitarian, ruthless regime from inside. There are starving, ruthless, totalitarian regimes all over the world, but only a couple on our doorstep.

That's what Rush Limbaugh called the country, and its inhabitants were Cuberns.
I still deeply miss Rush....
Over these past 60 years, it wasn’t necessary for Cuba to be a prosperous successful country to spread mischief. All it required was fanaticism, hate for the US, and a will to do. There have been many small groups and movements throughout history and around the world, backed by those who do have the resources, that have been successful at infiltrating and undermining large powers with much less.
Dr. Fred Schwarz, a medical doctor who ran the Christian Anti-Communism Crusade once described Communism as resembling a cancerous tumor that rots in the center while expanding at the edges. Cuba today is rotting at the center--blackouts occur regularly, its once-vaunted sugar industry has collapsed, food is short, and people drive around in 70-year-old cars--that is, when they can find gasoline. Yet the Cuban government is still capable of sowing mischief.
Trump can start by sending a USN hospital ship to a port near Havana.
