New constitution, 32-hour workweek, noncitizen voting: What’s in the DSA platform
Washington Examiner ^ | July 6, 2026 | Lauren Green

The Democratic Socialists of America platform calls for ambitious reforms, including the adoption of a new constitution and allowing noncitizens to vote, according to its program for 2025 and 2026.

Socialists have been on the rise after candidates such as Melat Kiros and Darializa Avila Chevalier beat longtime Democratic incumbents and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani defeated the Democratic establishment in last year’s mayoral race.

The DSA has backed anti-establishment views and candidates, claiming that neither political party represents “working people.”

“Today, working people have few good options,” the organization wrote. “In most political races, Americans will have the choice between far-right Republicans and corporate Democrats. In both cases, workers lose, and our politicians will remain controlled by their corporate donors, not the ordinary people who voted for them.”

Mamdani’s election gained national attention after he beat former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the primary. The Republican Party has since aimed to make him the face of the Democratic Party ahead of the midterm elections.

The platform includes priorities some factions of the Democratic Party have pushed for years, such as “Medicare for All,” college for all, and making unions more accessible. The DSA reached over 120,000 members, making it the largest socialist organization in American history.

You want to stop it? Get off your asses and vote, or else, they will win.

Might take a bit more than voting to end that nonsense.

Non-Citizen voting is unconstitutional. If the Socialist DemonRATs try it, Americans have every right in the world to overturn their fascist Caribbeaner banana democracy regime. Show the feral Dipsh** Court judgettes the real reason for the Second Amendment. Keep your powder dry. What better way to start the second 250 than with another Revolution. Send all the alien refugees back to where they belong.

These people are deranged, but the fact that people who openly believe this snake oil Marxism now make up most of the Democratic Party base, that makes them dangerous.

Granted, the people who believe that have comprised the majority of their base for some time, but now, they feel emboldened. They feel the time is right, and my guess is we are going to see two types of Democrats (from the group who formerly would not have been open about their socialistic/communistic views):

Part of the group will depart the Democrat Party to become Independent candidates, or to become Republicans. Those who wish to become Republicans are going to present a challenge to the Republican Party at a time we are trying to purge the “Assistant Democrats” from our ranks. We need to be careful of them as they are not going to change their spots, and they will turn into an infestation of “Assistant Democrats”.

The other part of the group will come out of the closet because they think “the time is right” to make a move on this country and destroy it so they can remake it.

I see this as a good thing in two ways:

First, those who become Independent will split the Democrat vote, though no doubt there will be some weak RINO voters who will vote for them.

Second, those who come out of the closet will declare themselves, and will win votes that Democrats have always won. But they will have to let their masks (masks that hide who they really are) slip even more, and “normal” Americans (including the lazy “liberals” who aren’t ideologues, just detached and intellectually lazy) will be shocked or alarmed at what they see, and fewer votes cast for them in general elections.

Granted, the Leftists will eventually figure things out and pull back and self-moderate, but I have maintained we will need at least three to four consecutive conservative adminstrations and Congresses to really take back the last sixty years of what the Left has done, and this grace time we might have for them to figure things out on the Left **might** be just enough to give our Republic a chance.

Okay...I am done with my optimistic view of things for today...you may return to your regularly scheduled programming!

Maybe. But we'll have to win big in 2028. Then due to the changes in the Electoral Map, they'll be locked out in the 2030s. Then a clone of Bill Clinton will emerge in 2040s.

But the catch is that we have to win in 2028. We're literally going "all-in" in poker.

"...But the catch is that we have to win in 2028. We're literally going "all-in" in poker..."

Truthfully, we have been at this point for a while.

I liken our country's situation for the last two decades (at least) to that of a mountain climber who has lost their footing, has no lifeline attached, and is sliding down a 70 degree ice covered slope towards a 3,000 foot drop-off as they frantically try to dig in ice axes in both hands to stop the slide.

And we really haven't had anyone trying to dig those ice axes in. Until Trump, they either seemed to accept that precipice as inevitable and were riding that Titanic stern into the sea as she sank, or wanted to hasten the plunge by greasing the skids.

I see the Trump Administration as having slowed that slide just a bit. But 12 consecutive years of conservatives holding the Presidency and the Congress might have us climbing out of that pit we have spent the better part of six decades sliding into.

I know it is a longshot. But at least it is a shot.

If you don’t need citizenship to vote then you don’t need an address to vote from. I’d recommend Republicans run to liberal hell holes and vote away or just print out the ballots and send them in on election day to whatever state you want to vote in.

Nice. Ain’t happening’…this is all platform drool which will lead to a solid drubbing in 2028. But they can certainly keep talking about it.

The DSA platform is the same as the National Education Association (NEA) business items at their convention in Portland, Oregon.

White people will be assumed to be racist. So in order to be allowed to vote, a white person will have to convince the election officials that he is committed to anti-racism.

I assume the first casualty of the new constitution will be the Bill of Rights.
