GOP BLOWOUT! Republicans DEMOLISH Dems in Special Elections!!!
X ^ | 04/15/2026 | Dr Steve Turley

Posted on 04/15/2026 9:24:05 AM PDT by SmokingJoe

This YouTube video is from conservative commentator Dr. Steve Turley, titled "GOP BLOWOUT! Republicans DEMOLISH Dems in Special Elections!!!". It was uploaded today (April 15, 2026) and already has tens of thousands of views.770232

What the video covers: Turley analyzes recent special election wins by Republicans in heavily Latino/Hispanic districts, arguing these results show a continuing (or accelerating) shift of Latino voters toward the GOP. Key examples he highlights:

West Miami, Florida (mayor race): Republican Eric Diaz Padron won 71-29 (a 42-point margin), beating Trump's 2024 margin in the area by 11 points. The district is overwhelmingly Hispanic. West Miami City Council: Another Republican outperformed Trump's margin by 18 points in a district that's 85%+ Hispanic.

Rio Rancho, New Mexico (mayor race): A Republican win where the candidate outperformed Trump's margin by 30 points in a working-class, heavily Hispanic area. He frames this as evidence of a Latino realignment driven by issues like the economy, border security/immigration, law and order, family values, and pushback against "woke" policies. Turley notes Trump's improved performance with Latino voters in 2024 (especially Latino men at 54-44%) and suggests these off-year, local wins (without Trump on the ballot) reinforce that trend—challenging media claims that Latinos are swinging back to Democrats.

There’s a lot of threads like this one these days. To wit, they induce the haters to out themselves; they can’t help it.

Says the guy who called Turley pollyanna.

Using a colorful way to say someone is being a little pessimistic is not, imo, an ad hominem unless of course you consider calling someone overly optimistic also an ad hominem.

Your use of pollyanna (which comes from Eleanor H. Porter’s 1913 novel, Pollyanna, about an orphan) is no different than how I used Eeyore (which comes from Winnie-the-Pooh” series created by A. A. Milne) to indicate pessimism, in fact I was literally using the same rhetorical structure you used, except it was diametrically aligned.

Oh, and I am Gen X, so if you choose to use a generational stereotype as an insult please get it right :)

Great news. Maybe the belly-scratching rank-file repubs are seeing what’s happening in states like Virginia and are waking the f’up.

FR Boomer debate tactic.... if someone doesn’t agree with you, go ad hominem. That’s a substitute for thinking, but brain cells with most here have been fried on Marlboros, cheesy 60s Westerns, cheap beer, and unrealized potential.

You complain about an ad hominem attack and then in your very next sentence you ad hominem attack "most here".

LOL!

Rio Rancho is a hard repub enclave suburb neighbor of revolutionary socialist Albuquerque. It was never going Democrat. Rio Rancho is the place people flee to if you live in the Santa Fe/Albuquerque area so you can have a good police department, affordable houses, low crime etc.

The old mayor is running for Governor and may he win! But RR is not a bellwether that New Mexico is about to swing Repub. It isn’t going to happen. They are as bad as California. It’s a one party state where Repubs lost every statewide election last time. The Gov is a Rat, the entire congressional delegation is Rat, the State supreme court is Rat. Both houses of the Legislature are near supermajorities, and fully majority female.
And not just female, but young virulent ones with educations at Stanford, Yale, Brown, William and Mary, and other libtard schools. They are developed, trained and funded by national RAT programs and come back to NM to push the national agenda. Gun control was essentially unknown in NM and now every session they take another bite at the apple, they just passed free college and unlimited free day care for every kid in the state (takes little imagination to know how that goes).
They are tearing down power plants, fully behind homosexuality, abortion, and were brutal during covid.

Be happy for this win so the Rio Rancho enclave can persevere, but take it for what it is.

Turley is a Rush Limbaugh acolyte, and Rush was always optimistic. He doesn’t have Rush’s 99% accuracy, but he’s pretty accurate, and his videos are both informative and entertaining. My only complaint is that occasionally he does this high-pitched whine that could almost break a champaign glass.

Also, IF the Supreme Court rules favorably on disallowing the voting rights act to permit racial gerrymandering, my understanding is it could swing 12 to 25 current seats back to the GOP. Not sure of the numbers but the concept is true.

Other threads and info indicate Hispanics are continuing to move away from the rabid Democrats. There are many in New Mexico and I feel that, sans voting fraud, the political landscape in greater New Mexico would look quite different today.

The favorable election results have a simple explanation. Expatriate Venezuelans and Cubans in Florida are ecstatic over Trump's takedown of Maduro in Venezuela and imminent liberation of Cuba. Unfortunately, that sentiment does not apply broadly to other Hispanics — or even to most Americans.

The Hispanic majority in Miami is unique.

It is primarily made up of 1960 Cubans and their children and grand children.

The 1960 Cubans were the business owners and professional class in Cuba. Cuba was the wealthiest country in Latin America.

Most of them traced their heritage to Europe - not Cuba.

The 1980 Cubans trace their heritage to Africa, the Caribbean, and to Native South Americans.

The 1980 Cubans are widely scattered in the USA.

The 1980 Cubans are 80% Democrat.
