Oops: Team Gavin Newsom’s Attempt to Troll Trump Over Iran and Gas Prices Backfires Spectacularly When the US Oil and Gas Association Delivers this Devastating Reply

Team Gavin Newsom could not resist a cheap shot against President Trump following the bombing of Iran, and it promptly blew up in their faces.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the United States and Israel launched ‘Operation Epic Fury’ against Iran over the weekend.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was eliminated in a joint military operation conducted by Israel and the United States this weekend.

At least 40 other senior Iranian regime leaders were also killed in the strikes.

Several Democrats predictably condemned the attack. Not surprisingly, Newsom was one of them.

Following the bombing, Newsom’s team slammed Trump for rattling oil markets while bragging about California’s supposedly declining gasoline prices.

“Average gas prices in California have stayed below $5 for nearly two years,” the post reads. “Trump’s new war is already rattling markets.”

“We’re watching this space. Closely.”

The US Oil and Gas Association was not pleased by the tweet and decided to school Newsom’s team. After calling the staffer responsible for the tweet a “pajama boy,” the organization shared a brutal fact: California imports roughly 5/8 of its oil from abroad despite sitting on almost 2 billion barrels of reserves.

The US Oil and Gas Association went on to detail each country from which the Golden State imports its oil.

Of course, the reason California imports so much petroleum is that the politicians who run the state are worthless climate alarmists who would rather see rolling blackouts than drill for another drop of oil.

"Time to school the Pajama Boy who runs this account for the Gov – because this isn’t the flex on Trump he thinks it is….

California imports 63% of its crude from foreign countries – despite sitting on at least 1.7 billion barrels of proven reserves.

According to the California Energy Commission here is the typical break down of where that foreign-sourced crude supplied to California refineries comes from:

Iraq: ~21% Brazil: ~20% Guyana: ~16%. Ecuador: ~14%. Colombia: ~6% Canada: ~4% Mexico: ~4% United Arab Emirates (UAE): ~2%.

Others like Saudi Arabia will total the rest of the 100% foreign share.

The only state worried about rattling foreign markets is California because you have let yourselves become dependent on foreign supplies.

You’ve done this to yourselves."

They hope the world runs out of oil and then they’ll hold it hostage and charge whatever they want ,LOl

Gas under $5 a gallon and he’s bragging??? Here in Western PA where I live, gas has been under $4, and well under at that. (It’s been between $3 and 3.30 for many months). Further, we have much higher gas taxes than any of our neighboring states, except maybe NY (gas in MD is even cheaper). When I’ve gone into OH or WV, I see gas typically for under $3. CA has some of the highest prices in the country and he thinks that’s great?!

I live right near the southern border of NY and northern border of PA. Gas is significantly more expensive over the PA line. Your gas taxes are apparently worse than ours in NY. Hard to believe, I know.

And to think this a-hole wants to be our next president. If he somehow gets elected, things will go downhill fast in the most colossal way.

I just paid $2.94 a gallon in SW Florida a couple days ago. This is remarkable because Florida generally has slightly higher gasoline prices than the Midwest because of how it must be brought into the state.

I wasn’t sure about NY gas prices. I don’t go into NY often, but I’m not surprised that our taxes are higher. There was a wholesale gas tax that was a certain percentage, but was capped on the absolute amount per gallon. Governor Wolf, claiming that he didn’t raise our gas tax, kept the percentage rate constant but removed the cap on the amount per gallon, so we have had higher gas tax than our neighbors for at least the last 7-8 years or so

Oil delivered by tankers burning heavy fuel oil (HFO) which is a thick residue from oil refining. Tankers traveling thousands of miles from around the world when California has billions of barrels of oil that can be pumped out. They can also build a pipeline to other states for oil and gas. The democrats are the reason prices are double and will soon be $8 to $12 a gallon for gas this year only in the state of California.
