Good news, everybody: We’ve figured out why Democrat Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois is very concerned about AI deepfakes.
It’s not because he believes that fake images generated by ChatGPT or Grok are going to confuse smart people, or even the average person. He’s like your dim, aged Uncle Dick from Springfield, who wants to ban high-speed internet because he doesn’t get why we can’t just stick to AOL after he spent long learning it. He doesn’t understand these socials medians things with the Facebookers and the Instantgrammars and whatnot. Why can’t he just stick to “Keyword: PBS?”
On Wednesday, Durbin — the Senate minority whip, by the way, meaning he’s the second-most powerful Democrat in the upper chamber — went to the floor to decry the shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. He had with him a photo of what he said was the shooting.
“I’m going to show a photo of that scene, which is graphic,” Durbin said as he hoisted a picture up. “But I’m afraid it’s necessary to appreciate the horror of the moment.”
“This photo shows the last seconds before the ICE agent killed Alex Pretti on the streets of Minneapolis,” he said, showing Pretti kneeling down with three ICE agents around him, one with a gun pointed at him.
“In [Pretti’s] right hand is his camera, the left hand holding the ground,” Durbin said. “No gun obvious, no effort to resist obvious.”
He then proceeded to speak for another seven-plus minutes about the death of Pretti with the picture behind him without noticing another obvious thing: The photo he was using was so obviously AI-generated that one of the ICE agents didn’t have a head on him.

What a dick.
AI deepfakes are going to be very useful to the Dems and their media lackeys. Is it fake? Yes. Do they care? No. It allows them to advance a narrative.
No gun obvious was the problem. Dims don’t think laws apply to them. He was dead the minute he fought the cops with a loaded gun.
Democrats are fond of saying "Believe what your eyes are telling you." But most people are in such a hurry to do that they don't stop and look at what their eyes are showing them. I had one Democrat friend send me this picture, and she was in such a snit she never mentioned that the man kneeling has no head. (See red arrow.)

I admit, I saw this and thought "WTF? That looks like an execution style murder, subject on his knees, gun pointed at the head...what did I miss??
In looking at the videos, I couldn't even see a sequence where a single frame could be extracted that would resemble that image above. but I may not have seen all the videos.
Most I saw looked like a fur ball of cats with arms and legs sticking out.
So it might have been me that missed it.
Dems altering the truth? WUT! Saw some assclowns talking about the 5 year old. They claim that ICE went into a school and took him. Not a mention of cowardly dad running away and leaving him standing there. GRRRRRRR!
Recall that years ago Dick Durbin killed free checking by eliminating common bank charges. He went nuts when Rush exposed him to his audience.
Instead of a headless AI generated photo of an innocent man being murdered execution style, we have a AI generated porn photo of a dickless Democrat Senator from Illinois...oh, wait. That isn’t AI generated...

Fake, but accurate they will say, and that they removed his head to protect his identity.
