It is fair to say that until Kamala Harris chose her running mate in 2024, the vast majority of Americans had never heard of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Known during the campaign for little more than his weak-kneed response to the George Floyd riots of 2020 and for exaggerations about his National Guard service and military rank, he was an ever-grinning, ever-clapping cheerleader for Kamala’s word salads.
However, in light of Minnesota’s “industrial-scale” social services fraud, likely involving billions in tax dollars funneled away from those most in need to those lining their pockets for vacations, jewelry, property, and luxury vehicles, Walz is fast becoming known for something else — as a shockingly incompetent governor asleep at the wheel since his election in 2018.
That massive amounts of money earmarked for programs supporting children and the poor were criminally stolen, with little or no adequate supervision by the Walz administration, is beyond doubt. As a result, legitimate initiatives, including Medicaid, housing assistance, autism services, and childcare assistance programs were denied the funds to which they were entitled.
However, also troubling are assertions that Minnesota welfare fraud money was siphoned to terrorist groups, including ISIS, in Somalia and elsewhere.
In fact, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has stated that because allegations suggest that “fraudulently obtained funds… were sent overseas to support terrorist organizations,” such a claim is serious enough to justify congressional investigation.
But because Minnesota’s boondoggle bonanza was hatched in a blue state, overseen by a passively inept, asleep-at-the-wheel progressive governor, and involved a large Somali population, the somnambulating legacy media has often downplayed or even ignored the scandal.

Walz is neck deep in this but let’s not overlook that the Democratic Party nationwide decided to create sanctuary cities/states that many people bought into as a legitimate immigration policy. Bondi needs to tackle this nationwide or else Minnesota will happen everywhere ICE goes. And if they are successful at detering Federal law on this issue it will happen again.
Gov Tim Walz.....loser Harris’ hapless running mate...... faces intense scrutiny and accusations of negligence regarding massive, multi-year fraud in Minnesota with federal officials alleging even higher potential fraud.
Critics argue Walz failed to act on warnings, that might have lead a more astute official to take responsibility for fixing the systemic failures.
The Trump Administration argues that a lack of oversight, inaction, and failure to address warnings that allowed the fraud to continue under Walz’s watch.
The Minnesota Dept of Human Services (DHS) and other state agencies under Walz’ aegis faced criticism for being slow to act, suggesting they were cued to be unresponsive to early concerns.
Governor Walz has astoundingly “defended” his record, stating “he takes responsibility” for the thievery and the necessary fixes.
Federal authorities have led the prosecutions of the wrongdoers and thieves, with dozens of indictments, further highlighting significant gaps in Walz’s oversight mechanisms.
The fraud scandals have been a major factor in political discussions regarding Walz’s tenure and his necessary decision not to seek a third term.

The real reason is to make Minneapolis so hot that no federal investigators will be able to truck the banker boxes necessary to pull all the fraudulent accounting out of Minnesota, but I have a feeling that comes tomorrow.

Last week CPB commander Greg Bovino was asked what makes Minneapolis different from other cities where ICE enforcement operations have taken place. Bovino noted in the Minneapolis region there is no separation between the extremists on the ground and the people in local government. Today, Vice President JD Vance concurs and expands on that sentiment:

The corrupt activity in the Minneapolis area has been going on for around two decades. There are two basic components, local financial fraud and govt financial fraud. The local fraud represented millions and involved counterfeit goods/money and laundering operations. The government assisted financial fraud represents billions and involves abuses of federal tax monies.
After 20 years of this activity almost all elements of the economic and social structure are now compromised. As we have seen in the last several weeks, the HHS/CMS fraud is extensive and that illegal activity is impossible to exist without the knowledge, aid and assistance of the regional and municipal government officials.
Fraudulent day cares, fraudulent healthcare services, fraudulent transport companies, fraudulent “Health Outreach Workers” and various governmental offices all involved in bilking taxpayers for billions upon billions. At the same time there is a massive money laundering operation in the underground economy.
After two decades of this unchecked corruption, there’s no way to guess how much of the regional economic activity is actually dependent on the financial fraud. My best estimate is that over fifty percent of all economic activity -in the entire region- is based on fraud.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions are the surface level issue for the regional and state government. However, it is the widespread financial fraud that turns the activity of the leftist agitators on the street into a useful tool for the regional officials to manipulate in order to hide the true financial fraud that surrounds the area.
The “local authorities” are working with the “far left agitators” because the Minneapolis region is a network of codependent fraud.
The police are compromised. The judges and courts are compromised. The local municipal officials are compromised. The mayor’s office is compromised, and the corruption issue spreads out to the state level when Governor Tim Walz previously shut down audits of the financial crimes and then state officials ignored whistleblowers.
All of the private and public institutions -within the system of regional and state government- are connected to a statewide network of financial fraud, from counterfeit money laundering to exploitation of federal government benefits; it is all connected to the same network of fraud.
It was the ease and ability to conduct fraud that attracted the Somali migrants and the criminal aliens. These people came for the money. ICE coming to arrest the aliens has put a spotlight on the reason why they aggregated in the Minneapolis region.
How this can be corrected is anyone’s guess.
Follow the money trail and you will discover this real reason for the state and local officials to support the anarchy in the streets. They all want the federal government to leave.

Nice! Yes, it has to be coordinated with state and local officials. I’ve been saying that about the Somali fraud too and not just because they’re too dumb to figure out how to do it. They need inside help to overlook, direct their efforts, and misdirect efforts to uncover it.
The Somalis are basically just living cutouts in the scheme. Bodies to inhabit the ghost businesses and hang names on them.
Given the billions of dollars in fraud one can’t help but wonder how much of that money is finding its way into the pockets of Minnesota politicians. Walz is without question inept and a buffoon, but money talks.
