It’s not quite burning-scientists-at-the-stake bad, but it’s close — or at least feels that way. President Donald Trump’s administration is openly waging war against universities, closing independent science review panels, funding fewer grants, and shutting down or raising concerns about the closure of important centers of government research (even though in some cases, they’re probably not supposed to). The evidence is now clear that the modern American structure of science can no longer survive as an apolitical entity that enjoys consistent, bipartisan support. Science is now suffering a generational catastrophe, not just in terms of funding, but in terms of political and public support.

As to US Conservatives, we trust science, what we don’t trust are the New Age RELIGIONS of the Left, starting with Climate Change, but also Vaccines and other drugs, particularly since they FUND THE LEFT (via TV advertising for starters).

Science has been used for political purposes for a long time.
Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany were two examples.
The problem is that “big science” requires big money—and that means government involvement.
Any leftist controlled government will have scientists spewing out leftist propaganda.
Soviet science is what they are protecting. The science that says the chromosomes don’t matter?
Beyond that, the true Scientific Method does not ask for "trust". It only asks that one rely on evidence, critical review and reproducibility.
Asking one to "trust the science" is the antithisis of the Scientific Method.

You can get COVID or die of COVID even if you’re vaccinated.
You can spread COVID even if you’re vaccinated.
A person who has had COVID has better immunity against it than a person who has only been vaccinated.

I don’t distrust science, I distrust “experts” who deliberately and most often callously promote “political science” as science. That’s not just wrong, it is in many instances pure evil.

When you support stopping the process by proclaiming it is unreviewable, you are not performing science. It seems the left has canceled actual science.
