Lebanon WAS a model when it was a safe haven country for Christians and Druze Muslims. If all Muslims were like the Druze brand (which most other brands of Islam consider apostate), then Pope Leo would be right.
Lebanon's civil war started when other brands of Muslims moved in. It has never been the same since.
