Sunday thought: The Bigot in the Oval Office

Friends,

This week’s shooting of two National Guard members by a gunman identified by the authorities as an Afghan national was horrific.

But Trump’s response has been disproportionate and bigoted. He vows to “permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries.” He intends to deport legal immigrants born in countries the White House deems “high risk.”

Below is some of the truth about the democRATS/DemoKKKrats.

On July 24, 2020, Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) delivered a speech on the House floor introducing a resolution that called for the banning of any political organization or party that had ever publicly supported slavery or the Confederate States of America.

In his remarks, Gohmert cited historical positions of the Democratic Party to support his argument, emphasizing its past support for slavery and racial segregation.

He referenced the Democratic Party Platforms from 1840, 1844, 1848, 1852, and 1856, which stated that Congress had no power to interfere with the domestic institutions of states, including slavery, and opposed abolitionist efforts, claiming they endangered the Union.

Gohmert also highlighted the 1856 platform’s stance that new states should be admitted with or without slavery based on state preference, and noted the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, which required law enforcement to assist in capturing runaway slaves based on minimal evidence.

He pointed to the Democratic Party’s opposition to the 14th and 15th Amendments, which granted citizenship and voting rights to freed slaves, noting that both passed with 0% Democratic support in Congress.

Gohmert cited the 1902 Virginia constitution, engineered by future Democratic Senator Carter Glass, which disenfranchised approximately 90% of Black male voters and nearly half of white male voters, with the goal explicitly stated as eliminating African American voters legally.

He referenced President Woodrow Wilson’s administration, which instituted racial segregation in federal government employment and required photographs with job applications, contributing to systemic discrimination.

Gohmert also mentioned the 1924 Democratic National Convention, known as the “Klan Bake,” due to the significant influence of the Ku Klux Klan within the party at the time.

Additionally, he cited the 1964 Civil Rights Act filibuster led by Democratic Senator Robert Byrd, a known KKK recruiter, as evidence of the party’s historical opposition to civil rights.

Gohmert’s resolution called for the removal of any symbol or item representing a party that supported slavery or the Confederacy from the Capitol and proposed that such parties either change their name or be barred from participation in the House of Representatives.

The speech was delivered in the context of House Resolution 7573, which aimed to remove statues of Confederate figures from the Capitol, but Gohmert argued it failed to address the Democratic Party’s historical role in supporting slavery and segregation

Although the Republican Party was founded with the objective of preventing the spread of slavery beyond where it already was established, Lincoln in 1861 approved of a proposed constitutional amendment to protect slavery where it already existed if the Southern states would return to the Union.

While Robert Reich is campaigning for Obama in Nevada, he goes to see a doctor. He tells the doctor “I have a terrible pain in my testicles.”

Doctor grabs a pair of scissors and approaches Robert Reich. Reich says “Oh no you don’t, you’re not cutting off my testicles!”

Doctor says “No, I’m just going to cut the tops off those new cowboy boots you’ve got on.”
