But did the allies know about the death centers Treblinka, Bełżec and Sobibor?

Churchill and FDR knew about Treblinka in 1942. The Polish resistance gave a detailed report of the camp to London. It was no secret what the Nazi’s were doing to the Jews in the Polish forests.
The Katyn massacre was carried out by the Soviet Union, not the Germans, though the massacre’s existence was initially discovered by German forces in 1943. The Soviet secret police, the NKVD, executed approximately 22,000 Polish prisoners of war, including officers, border guards, and intellectuals, on the orders of Joseph Stalin in the spring of 1940.
There is vast and irredeemable historical ignorance on display in this thread, so you you guys have a nice time.

JFK was a mediocre president, but that still makes him outstanding among every Democrat president after Grover Cleveland. Yes, his royal screw-up with Bay of Pigs invited the Cuban Missile Crisis, but I still give him credit for a masterful job of ending it.
I don’t trust the reliability of Wiki much anyway, especially when it comes to Israel and Jews. They are greatly influenced by the BBC, which has always been antisemitic and anti Israel.
I’m with FDR on this.
1) What was 100% known about the death/killing camps was little. There were tons of rumors, but since the death camps were in the Russkie zone, very little came out.
2) What it was later found out that, gee, they were not death camps and the trains were carrying supplies, and you just starved thousands? Again, fog of war.
3) The only way to be 100% certain that the death camps, IF they existed (again at that time, it was still up in the air), would only be entirely closed by ending the war. We know, for example, that Nazi guards actually MOVED starving prisoners ahead of the Russkie army-—move them, then kill them, rather than surrender them.

Much more the vampire/Fourth Reich kinda thing.
By expending scarce resources on killing the Jews and others, the Nazis didn’t have them to use for the war effort. Thus, the camps were not targeted because they wasted German resources and saved American lives. Truman had a greater moral sense than FDR.
“Railway lines could typically be repaired in hours by the Germans.”
Yes. Also, most likely the Germans would simply disembark them and march them to the camps from there. As a result many more would be sick and infirmed when they arrived at camp and would have been selected for immediate death.
Operation Carthage was a success because it was in a city allowing prisoners escape in an urban environment while also concentrating the Gestapo and collaborators in a central building.
I agree with that. But the Truman State Department was heavily stocked with antisemitism, as many had no problems if Jews were killed. They are the ones that denied ANY Jewish refugees entry into the US and turned back the MS St. Louis, which had 900 Jews that were later returned to their fate.
It would have been more humane for Jews.
