Politico Highlights How Trump 'Gloats' in Reaction to BBC Resignations Over 'Mistakes'

Jorge Bonilla wrote a story here on Sunday about the BBC bosses, Director General Tim Davie and News CEO Deborah Turness, being forced to resign due to their organization doctoring a clip of President Donald Trump on January 6, 2021.

So how did Politico cover this scandal? By treading lightly on the details while emphasizing that "the latest crisis marks a significant escalation in attacks on the BBC from the right."

In addition, strongly implied that the Trump administration's reaction to the BBC scandal displayed unseemly hubris as you can see in the title of their Sunday story by Matt Honeycombe-Foster, "Trump gloats as BBC boss quits over coverage ‘mistakes’."

President Trump should gloat: he’s on track to win another billion dollar law suit unless the BBC make an unqualified public apology ...

“Splicing” and rearranging verbiage to suit one’s political agenda is not a mistake.

Absolutely! And that's exactly what the BBC did.

Also, in England, the loser pays the winners legal fees, the so-called “English Rule”. Definitely cuts down on nuisance lawsuits.

The only “mistake” the Beeb made was thinking they could fabricate this ridiculous bit of slander without getting caught.

“Mistakes” happen inadvertently. What they did was fully intentional, with the aim to slander President Trump and influence the election that took place one week later, in favor of Harris.

I hope Trump bankrupts the bastards.

And the BBC and any affiliates should be banned from the White House press corps. In fact, just revoke the visas of all BBC employees in the US and send them packing.

Um, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was a mistake in hindsight. But still an intentional and malevolent act. So, OK, we can see now that BBC made a “mistake” nonetheless.

coverage ‘mistakes’

Is there such a thing as an intentional mistake? I guess it's not a mistake then.
