When the dog usually goes for a walk with the husband and stops at the pub for a beer, then one day the missus takes him for a walk ðŸ˜

Your stories about your family are so good. Do you have that photo of your parents, your mom was maybe sitting on a swing and your father was in his dress uniform? And tell us the story about when your father went to her dormitory and the coeds said, “she’s dating a real man!”

My Mom and Dad weren't high school sweethearts...my dad was a 24 year old LTJG in the Navy Reserve in 1949, also going to Holy Cross College during the day to finish his degree he began in the V-12 program in WWII, working at his father's grocery store on weekends, busing tables at the country club at night, and was the post leader at the VFW in town, all at the same time.
My mother was 17 at the time, and was learning to be a nurse and living in a dorm for nursing students in Boston. They had met at a dance somewhere, and my dad asked her out on a date.
It was Christmastime, and my dad showed up at her all women's dorm in his Full Dress Blues (the formal ones, with the dinner jacket and gold cummerbund and a gardenia corsage for her, to take her to the hospital Christmas party.
All the girls are running around getting ready, curlers in their hair, and the House Mother come upstairs, finds my mom and says "Your date is here!" My mom said all the girls ran out to look over the bannister down into the first floor open area, and she heard someone exclaim "She's got a real man!" and all the girls came running out to look...my dad had put his had down on the table, and was standing there, his hair cut into a close cropped military flat-top, holding the gardenia corsage box in his hand!
My mom said "It was like a fairy tale!" I did a video interview of her a couple of years before she passed away in 2007 (my dad died in 2000) and put together a nice tribute to her. She was an attractive woman even in old age, and was still getting some guys trying to take her out on a date, but she wasn't interested...:)
Hahaha..she had enough of one man for one life!
Exactly...I think I always get it mixed up with chocolate!
