National broadcasters dedicated zero air time to informing the public about the FBI’s “Arctic Frost” scandal, a sprawling surveillance operation after Jan. 6 that probed more than 150 Republican lawmakers and entities close to President Donald Trump.
According to analysis by media watchdog group NewsBusters, while documents continue to reveal Operation Arctic Frost ensnared more and more GOP legislators, major networks ABC, CBS and NBC over the past week have thus far failed to report on the bombshell developments.
NewsBusters’ Curtis Houck highlighted the networks’ lack of coverage, noting Fox News’ Brett Baier did the story justice.
However, even after revelations that Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) was also targeted in the probe, and docs showing the DOJ requested sensitive information including social security numbers and financial records of the J6 Prison Choir – which broke later Thursday – the mainstream networks have still refused to report the Arctic Frost story.

And yet there was nothing about any of this on any of the national network newscasts. Nothing on ABC, CBS, NBC. We checked and found nothing on Univision or Telemundo, either. And this is quite clearly by design.

The document came to light following an oversight request by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who wrote on X Monday, “This document shows the Biden FBI spied on 8 of my Republican Senate colleagues during its Arctic Frost investigation into ‘election conspiracy’ Arctic Frost later became Jack Smith’s elector case against Trump.”
Earlier this month Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) published a document showing Special Counsel Jack Smith’s probe swept up the cell phone communications of at least eight Republican senators, including Sens. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.), Cynthia Lumis (R-Wyo.), and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.).
“This document shows the Biden FBI spied on 8 of my Republican Senate colleagues during its Arctic Frost investigation into ‘election conspiracy’ Arctic Frost later became Jack Smith’s elector case against Trump,” Grassley wrote, adding, “BIDEN FBI WEAPONIZATION = WORSE THAN WATERGATE.”
On Wednesday, Sen. Grassley released even more damning Arctic Frost documents showing the FBI under Joe Biden had sent 197 subpoenas to over 400 Republicans targets as part of the probe.
The media’s role in the cover-up is clear, they can’t square Biden’s lawfare against Trump, while simultaneously attempting to claim Trump is weaponizing the justice system against his enemies.
“The same media that decry ‘retribution’ when those who weaponized government face justice now shamefully hold their tongues as we collectively discover that the retribution was here all along, and executed by the Biden administration,” wrote NewsBusters’ Bonilla, adding, “As we always say: if it weren’t for double standards, there’d be none at all.”

That’s because they are neck deep into it. In fact, I have believed for years that media is being paid off.
Watergate was the scandal of the second half of the 20th century. ABC, NBC, and CBS devoted hours of coverage to both the hearings and the evening news reporting on the hearings. It involved a President, who won 49 of 50 states’ Electoral Votes, trying to distance himself from a burglary of the DNC office that he neither ordered nor knew about until the burglars were caught.
Arctic Frost involves an administration that lied to get warrants to tap the phones of U.S. Senators who had committed the crime of being Republicans. And as one might expect ABC, NBC, and CBS do not consider the revelation of this to be at all newsworthy. No doubt they hope that if they ignore the story long enough, it will go away, and if it doesn’t, they’ll say it’s old news and not relevant to the issue that Republicans are going to cause 42 million SNAP recipients to starve to death.
