They never tell you there are literally dozens of volcanoes below the ice in that location.
Most are not actively erupting.
However, most of them are naturally warmer than areas that do not have volcanoes!
I remember the 1970s in which a plan was to mine coal, grind it to dust, and spray it on the glaciers and ice fields to increase the absorption of heat from the sun to stop THE COMING ICE AGE!

I can already see the climate change cultists coming up with some ridiculous sophistry to explain why it is colder in Antarctica. Something like the higher temperatures in the northern hemisphere are pushing the cold air down there.

You gotta give them credit. Someone read the tea leaves and saw that “global warming” was going to stop and we were going to get stories like this. So they changed it to “climate change”. Where EVERY new record high or low is covered, and is proof of their theory.
I literally spent a year there one day.
