In recent hours, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) sources have reported a series of unprecedented flights carried out by U.S. Air Force (USAF) B-1B Lancer strategic bombers over the Caribbean — a region far from their usual deployment areas in Europe, the Middle East, and the Pacific. The aircraft, identified by the callsigns “BAT-21” and “BAT-22,” took off from the state of Florida accompanied by three KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft (“MAINE-11,” “MAINE-12,” and “MAINE-13”), following a flight path that crossed Bahamian airspace heading south.
Although the specific purpose of the exercise or operation has not been confirmed, such flights are typically part of the Bomber Task Force’s (BTF) global training missions, intended to demonstrate the ability of U.S. bombers to operate across multiple theaters and project deterrent capability anywhere in the world.
This flight also follows similar recent operations involving B-52H bombers. The most recent of these took place just days ago, when Stratofortresses conducted comparable missions escorted by F-35B Lightning II stealth fighters from the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC). On that occasion, U.S. Southern Command stated that this unprecedented activity in the region aimed to “…demonstrate the United States’ commitment to proactively deterring adversary threats, improving crew training, and ensuring the global readiness levels necessary to respond to any contingency or challenge.”

Looks credible to me. This “one source” OSINTdefender on X is followed by...
Pete Hegseth, Dan Bongino, Elon Musk, Eagle Ed Martin, Scott Jennings, Nick Sortor, U.S Department of State (spokesperson) and 1,600,000 more.
"There's reporting the U.S. just sent B1 bombers near Venezuela to ramp up the military pressure there. Is that accurate, and can you tell us more about that mission?"
President Trump: "No, it's not accurate, no, it's false."
__________
So, what was inaccurate? That the bombers were "near Venezuala" or that it was done to "ramp up military pressure"?
My father worked for North American Rockwell during the B-70 program and the development phase of the B-1.
A fascinating assertion. Please link to a source for the above.
Using an LLM, I came up with "I couldn't find specific recent information about OSINTdefender and Pete Hegseth on X (formerly known as Twitter)...."
I found this OSINT guy in Georgia also mirroring through Bsky....
⚠️ MIRROR OF twitter.com/sentdefender
Looking forward to seeing your verification that "OSINTdefender on X is followed by... Pete Hegseth"
Thanks in advance.
A dictator can never show weakness. He has to do such things whether he wants to or not. Evil people only surround them selves with other evil people. They only work together against a common foe. They work to undermine each other covertly but constantly.
This explains modern western education as well. Once in charge, criminals push out honest people and fill their ranks with more criminals. The results are always disasterous.
Sure, no problem. On the OSINTdefender Main Page on X, I clicked on “1.6M followers” in the description.
That took me to another page with Tabs for categories of followers. I clicked on “Followers You Know”.
So I just picked out some of the more prominent names as examples of people I follow on X who also follow OSINTdefender https://x.com/sentdefender
What you described is what happened in the United States of America when the voters, in their infinite Wisdom put bastards such as Bill Clinton, barrack obama, and Joe Biden in the White House. We, as a Nation are now paying the price. And the sons of bitches responsible don’t give a damn and could not care less.
Destruction is their goal. It is pointless to attempt to find logic for their acts. They act to destroy the very thing they attempt to draw their power from. Insane.
Below is the link to that OSINTdefender Followers page.
So if you don’t already follow Pete Hegseth @PeteHegseth (verified account affiliated with the Dept. of War) on X, follow him and repeat the procedure I described.
Then you will see his name in the Tab of “Followers You Know”, i.e. the various “Followers of OSINTdefender” who you currently follow.
https://x.com/sentdefender/followers_you_follow
First plane I worked on at Boeing in 1983.
I’d like to see one in person some day. I’ve read that its engines on takeoff sound awesome. Maybe similar to when I heard the Concorde take off, from about 5 miles away an awesome roar.
But no Pete Hegseth. I suspect your methodology is not mine, while mine is more direct.
Then I went to Pete Hegseth's blue check and found through his followers and "list" no follower named OSINTdefender. So different results.
Nonetheless, this guy in the state of Georgia who has posted Telegram stuff isn't quite the recommendation which convinces me.
I was never near a B-1 at takeoff but was about 100 yards from a Concorde. Yikes! Ear splitting!
Did you follow https://x.com/PeteHegseth first? If you really want to know, then do it :)
If you follow him now then he should appear in the TAB called Followers You Know at the top (i.e. Followers you follow).
Do you want me to screenshot it for you?

<>B-1B Bombers Are Hunting Illegal Fishing Boats Off South America<>
Recent B-1B sorties highlight the growing maritime role for the bombers, but illegal fishing is a national security concern in its own right.
S. Air Force B-1B bombers flying from Dyess Air Force Base in Texas kept watch for signs of illegal fishing during recent sorties over the eastern end of the Pacific off the coast of Ecuador and around that country’s Galapagos Islands. This would seem to be an unusual mission for the B-1Bs, which is a highly capable long-range strike platform, but it is actually not the first time the bombers have supported international law enforcement activities as a way to practice skill sets in a real-world environment.
The recent B-1B flights also highlight the Air Force’s current interest in expanding the B-1B’s maritime role, with a particular eye toward anti-ship missions during future high-end conflicts, especially in the Pacific. In addition, the U.S. military has become increasingly interested in ways to help challenge malign Chinese activities short of conflict, including with regard to things like illegal fishing, in the broader Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
I'll go with President Trump's own quoted words in this matter.
What is known in the moment is:
"U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a report on the United States sending B-1 bombers near Venezuela to increase military pressure was false. 'No, its false,' Trump told reporters when asked about the report. Trump added Washington was 'very unhappy with Venezuela'."Trump says report of US sending B-1 bombers near Venezuela was false Reuters, 23 October 2025 ( about four hours ago )
"President denies report of planes flying near South American country amid crime crackdown."
Trump reacts to report of B-1 bombers near Venezuela while threatening drug traffickers during WH roundtable FOX, 23 October 2025 ( about 2 hours ago )
"U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a report on the United States sending B-1 bombers near Venezuela to increase military pressure was false."
Trump Says Report of US Sending B-1 Bombers Near Venezuela Was False US News, 23 October 2025
Mister Georgia OSINT said it was true, quoted by Brazilian media. President Trump has said -- verified as above -- it was false. I'll stick with President Trump's declarations.
The B1B got a radar upgrade in the 2015s it’s a fully active multi beam radar. SAR,ISAR,MTI, spot beam.mapping ,strip mapping TFR the works.
“The system features large synthetic aperture radar maps, advanced image processing and sensor integration that enhance situational awareness and offer new capabilities to B-1 for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting.”
The last part of this is GeoInt industry speak for real time SAR mapping , MTI and Doppler plus spot beam mapping, probably has bistatic passive modes too. Tracking small surface ships is easy peasy.
With JDAM/ER and link 16 you don’t even need laser JDAM or Quicksink seekers and clouds don’t mean crap the SAR sees right through clouds. Link 16 updates the DGPS in real-time 2 meter CEP....BOOM a 500# JDAM is ruining a fishing boat or anything this side of a destroyer. In WWII dive bombers carried one 1000# or 3x500# and the SBD Dauntless sunk carrier’s. A 500# 2 meter CEP munition is overkill for anything smaller than a full destroyer.
https://boeing.mediaroom.com/news-releases-statements?item=128245
Of course Harpoon, and LRASM are also in the Bones wheel house, for smaller boats those are expensive overkill, the SDBII has a seeker and Link 16. The Bone can carry 96 SDBII internally that’s a world of pain for Maritime security operations.
Groups of boats no problemo the WCMD CBU-103 brings 900# cluster bombs guided like JDAMs via GPS/INS and real-time moving target updates via Link 16. There should be a common theme becoming evident. The B1B brings 30 of these hey mess up a 400 by 800 feet (123 by 244 meters) or 43,000 sq meter area that’s 4 hectares of death don’t be there. A single hit.out of 200+ bomblets is enough to smash a drug boat or small fishing boat. There are air burst fuse settings that spray drags covering the whole area no one above deck or ground survives that even with body armor.
The Bone is America’s premier bomb truck it brings the pain better than anything else. Once we told the Russians to shove it and put the option of 6 of 8 pylons back in the mix not even the TU160 can touch it’s payloads.
I don’t follow “Mister OSINT in Georgia”, but Pete Hegseth, Elon Musk, Dan Bongino and 1,6000,000 others do. I only found out about the X post earlier today.
He posted but didn’t write an article about it. The military news site out of Argentina (not Brazil) wrote an article, one of only a few available earlier today, That’s what we do here...post articles.
I never said that the reported incident was verified as true. We’ll see. But I found it worth posting, even if some people were bad mouthing the sources.
Later, a reporter asked Trump about specific details, and asked him if they were accurate.
Reporter: “There’s reporting the U.S. just sent B1 bombers near Venezuela to ramp up the military pressure there. Is that accurate, and can you tell us more about that mission?”
President Trump: “No, it’s not accurate, no, it’s false.”
So we didn’t send bombers “near Venezuela to ramp up the pressure”. But how many miles is “near”? What other purposes may have been involved, such as training or drug cartel surveillance or other purposes (see link below). President Trump may have answered in this way to avoid getting into operational security details. It’s possible. We don’t know. We’ll perhaps find out later.
Please see “B-1B Bombers Are Hunting Illegal Fishing Boats Off South America” at Reply 36 for other purposes that would allow Trump to truthfully say that the reporter’s supposed details were false.
