There are key, irreplaceable people in politics in each era.
Lots of the Mondale, Dukakis, Dole, Romney types. House Speaker Hastert and then Boehner. So what?

But the JFK, RFK and Reagan ones are special. In music, John Lennon, Frank Sinatra and Elvis were that way. No “who is the next...?” of them. Irreplaceable.

Mamdani and AOC are two.

I’m so glad we moved out of the whole stinking state.

Mamdani already sent him to a re-education camp.
It was a preventative measure.

It’s pretty sad, really.

NYS is a beautiful state with great natural resources and a phenomenal agriculture. NYS could feed itself on what it grows every year.

The government has totally destroyed any reason for ever wanting to stay in the state. It was THE main reason we moved out. The lake effect snow didn’t help any but we could have moved closer to PA to avoid that. But then you get the nor’easters. Just like here in NH. :(

If I never saw snow again, I could die happy.

Anyways, a great state ruined by a corrupt, immoral, evil government.

To get technical, it’s a 4% hike, not 2%. Going from 50% to 52% is a differential of close to 4%.

"Gollleeee, New Yorkers! You going to vote for that?"

And why not? NYC voted for AOC.

We are looking at an “Escape from New York” scenario about five years after his election. But it will be a Muslim prison, the absolute worst. Sadly, they are reaping what they have sown.

Do New Yorkers get to deduct losses due to crime from their income?

I think if the super-rich had a problem with either paying taxes or evading them, they wouldn’t be in New York in the first place. I also don’t think a 2% income tax on the few people who it would apply to would be enough money to implement a socialist paradise.

I paid 48% in 97 when I worked in NYC.

Well, I was charged. Didn’t pay

If you were to add up all the taxes most NYC residents pay I bet it blows way past that already.

“ Let New York wallow in the mess they are voting for. Let him make an example out of that city who voted for this communist clown.”

Lots of good hardworking people who don’t vote for him get hurt.
Not a good idea

You don’t understand the game. The Super-rich don’t pay a proportional amount of taxes, because they’ve take out their incomes from being taxed by putting the money into foundations and tax shelters and other means to avoid paying taxes.

Socialism is the true con, because it is paid for by people who can’t take their money out of the system like the super-rich can. The super-rich may belly ache about taxes to put on a good show, but they don’t pay taxes.
