The incident happened about 1:45 a.m. on Friday, 12 September 2025, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Grand Prairie is midway between Fort Worth and Dallas, on the east side of Arlington. Police officers of the Grand Prairie Police Department went to the wrong address for a disturbance call. Officers said they knocked on the door of a Holly Hills Drive home for about five minutes.
The home-renter, Thomas Simpson, a husband and father, said he did not know what was going on. He suspected criminal activity. He exited the house into the garage, then opened the garage door to investigate the situation. He was armed with a pistol.
Simpson told FOX 4 officers never announced themselves, and he thought they were criminals at first.
Grand Prairie police dispute what happened. From nbcdfw.com:
When officers arrived, police said they knocked on the door for about five minutes from a “well illuminated area.” It was then that police said a man came out of the garage and “took an aggressive firing stance and pointed a firearm at officers.”
“Fearing for their lives,” police said, the officers shot at the person and hit him at least once in the leg.
Grand Prairie Police said the man’s injury was not severe and that he walked unassisted to an ambulance. The man was taken to an area hospital, treated and released.
Fortunately, the bullet did not hit bone, but passed through the fleshy upper part of the leg on the outside between the hip and the

8 shots point blank in the garage. “Do you need help to the ambulance?”
“Nah thats ok. I’ll walk it off.”
Excellent!
“A very bad scene for the police.”
Police are given an address, they go to the address, they spend around 5 minutes knocking on the door trying to get someone to answer, suddenly the garage door opens and an armed man comes into the light in a stance that the police determined aggressive and preparing to fire upon the police.
Why didn’t he answer the front door?
Why didn’t he try to find out what was going on before he reacted?
Why did he arm himself and decide to use another entrance that had been concealed prior to his exit?
Why did he carry a weapon and try to get the control of the situation threatening with it?
Police have a problem? I’m surprised with this guy’s reasoning on things he’s still alive at the time of the incident.

I think I see the problem...

Yes they do have a problem in many areas….but not in my area. My Sheriff told me do not ever answer/ open the door after dark. He said to stay put in the house, arm yourself, call 911 and IF the door is being bashed in, I have every right to immediately shoot through the door to stop the forced entry.
Something to do with “after dark” property protection laws. That said, I hope he sues them for $$$ millions.
Tell me about how these public servants are now charged with trespassing, assault with a deadly weapon, malicious wounding, attempted murder, and violation of civil rights under color of law.
That's rich. Violent criminals are now attempting lawfare against their victim.
Simpson says officers fired eight shots, which he believes is excessive.
Ya think?? Yeah, one shot was excessive.
You’re right, let’s just get rid of all the cops then there won’t anymore problems…..or, maybe we can wait until the body cams are released before we condemn or find anyone innocent. Also who made the first error that set the whole debacle in motion by sending the officers to the wrong address?
Your sheriff is a smart man.
Cops at the wrong address, prowling around waving guns, and attempting to murder innocent Citizens, are criminals. What do armed criminal prowlers deserve?
The public servants were at the wrong address. They had no right nor justification to shoot anybody.
2am Door Knocking-—

Should Work every Place.
I said ‘Should’
Happens a lot.
Are you seeing a common psychological/training pattern yet?
It is becoming far too common... Something is WRONG.
Note that the Police department statement never says that the Police “announced themselves”.
How in this day and age do the fuzz not make sure they have the correct address?!
“If Simpson did this then it is a justified shooting.”
Did what? Come out with a mean look on his face with a gun to defend his person and property from who he thought were criminals?
What would you do? Go hide in the closet and let yourself get boxed in?
