This short clip shows the moment the shot hit Charlie. It appears the shot was synchronized to Robinson's .30-06 cover shot. While not definitive, what is clear is that the hit drove Charlie to his left and off his chair. Someone has to have better video. It is noteworthy that the cameras to Charle's rear, mounted up on the tent super-structure, were removed 5 minutes after the shooting. No one secured the crime scene and the FBI didn't arrive until 18 minutes after the shooting. Indeed, the entire crime scene was corrupted immediately and now they have stripped the entire area bare and covered the ground up with pavers. Reminds me of the clean up crew hosing down the metal roof right after the Butler shoot.

Thanks, I will look closely on the big screen when I get home.
From the video attached to this post, that seems likely. In the slow motion portion, you see Charlie’s shirt ruffle then recoil out before you see the neck move. It sure seems it hit the armor then deflected up into the neck. It makes sense that the shooter would aim for the white shirt\chest.
My M1 Garand has quite a bark to it.
You can see the bullet fragment in still shots penetrate a hole in his t-shiirt neckline and strike his neck. The .30-06 depending upon bullet weight used typically at 2,800FPS had a mushroomed out spalled bullet fragment likely of at least 100gr going 1,000FPS after plate impact with a much larger diameter than the origin .308. His plate armor of choice was good for protection against handgun rounds, but was not the armor of choice to stop a high velocity heavy caliber rifle round. His staff was not anticipating a sniper going after Charlie.
His wife said he wasn’t wearing one.
He wasn’t wearing anything according to his wife.
Where in the video? What is the time at the bottom?
Charlie was wearing plate armor without the thicker spalling protection

Ok, but unless steel plates are made with nipple protrusions, I’m not going there.
See my post number 80. I wrote it starts at 0.7 seconds.
Whoops, that’s supposed to be .07 seconds.
In that bowl Charlie was set up in? Yes it would have.
“subsonic 30-06 cartridges are available off the rack.”
BINGO! That explains a lot.
See post # 77, subsonic ammo is available. It would explain a lot.
No, you stop. You can clearly see the upper curved part of the plate under his chest. The bullet deflected off the upper part of the plate and went up into his neck. This solves the “mystery” of the clean entrance wound and why there was no exit wound.

Alright, let’s agree to disagree. Problem is I have zero confidence we will ever learn the truth, if Butler is the standard for finding the truth in these never ending killings.
Well, I will admit to learning something new, however unfortunate, every day. This dork looked like a computer gamer and not a reloader. It turns out that you don’t have to be. Hornady and a bunch of manufacturers sell subsonic 30-06 right off the shelves, and probably at Cabella’s.
I notice that the bullets can be even heavier than a traditional load and highly accurate.
The only thing they say they won’t do well is cycle an autoloader.
I would find it hard to believe that this wouldn’t leave a trail, both on and off-line.
Thanks for the heads up. This and no vest makes sense, again.
Thank you for that reply.
It certainly looks to me as though the people will never know the truth - just as in Butler.
I am not in insurance, but if I were, I don’t think I’d insure someone in Kirk’s business who wouldn’t wear a vest.
I could also see someone like Charlie not wanting to scare his wife unnecessarily, as well.
It may be that what you say is true. It turns out that there are commercially available subsonic 30-06 hunting rounds. Maybe a vest is not even needed (or very little of one) for what was seen.
And it’s really doubtful the shooter could have figured this out by himself.
I suspect he had range time somewhere, where the scope was zeroed in with subsonic at the 145 yard range.
This was too well planned for a tranny crazed lunatic to pull off.
The last coyote I killed jumped at the last second from 150 yard shot and I hit the coyote in the neck. The 168gr partitioned bullet fired from a .308 heavy barreled rifle nearly decapitated the coyote ripping a 6" wound Chanel through its neck. The only logical and rational explanation and video evidence regardless of what anyone says indicates he was wearing thin plate armor.
