The U.S.-China South China Sea War of 2025: Who Would Win?
National Security Journal ^ | 9/16/2025 | Andrew Latham

So, if war broke out today, who “wins”?

A cautious judgment: China could win early episodes—sinking ships, mauling an airbase, or imposing a brief local exclusion near a contested feature—because interior lines and magazine depth pay dividends on day one. But carried beyond the first salvos, the balance bends toward an ugly allied denial.

With coastal fires in Japan and the Philippines, coalition patrols normalized inside Manila’s EEZ, and Fujian not yet truly operational, Beijing’s odds of converting tactical gains into a durable political victory are low—unless allied kill chains break or magazines run dry.

That 850 American bases is left wing nonsense, they count all kinds of things they call “bases”, for example they list Guam as having 54 of them.

120 of them are in Japan, 119 are in Germany, South Korea has 73 of them, Guam has 54, Italy 44, and Puerto Rico 34.

“””””America goes to war directly or thru proxy to launder money. Period”””””

If the Americans are as evil as you guys describes us on these threads, then no wonder the support for our enemies is so passionate on FR.

Video: The United States (USA) vs The World - Who Would Win?

Since the USSR’s fall in 1991, the US has held unmatched economic and military dominance globally.

Even with China’s rise, the US remains the most powerful, with three times the wealth and five times the military strength. Its advantages extend to geography and demographics. Thus, the US’s status as a global hegemon seems secure.

But what if the US faced the world in conflict? Could it still win?

As I said..

Only people that hate America really think other countries can beat the USA.

Then this person says isn’t true, then goes on America hating tangent about Afghanistan.

We beat the Taliban in six months, only to try the false hope of making a democratic republic with a stable middle class out of a shithole. The Taliban didn’t beat the USA...

Dear Smiley. You have played into my diabolical hands..... (not really)

We agree about the titles washing over us continually. Skepticism is so much is warranted. Close reading is as well.

“Close reading is as well.”

Now that is right... We are now back full circle. Intelligent objective assessment is always the practice no matter the source. But to filter and limit sources is sometimes a missed opportunity for some good chuckles, and occasionally someone letting the “stupidity” cat out of the bag unintentionally. Most of the time they step on their own toes. lol

So putting up biased firewalls against sources can be counter productive in the bigger picture of collective observation... :)

You should let people know what it is about when you post it.
The video is interesting, you should do a thread on it.
