raving? yes. stark? no.
Take your pills
Okay, got it.
LOL! Well done good sir. Deo Vindice!
Ding! The entire world is “stolen land”. Welcome to the human race. To pretend the Indians who happened to be on a patch of land when White guys arrived had always been on that patch of land....that they themselves hadn’t “stolen” it from somebody else is laughable. Anybody even casually familiar with American history knows it was not a case of holding hands and singing “kumbaya” around the campfire between various tribes. Far from it.......
But think of the tax breaks those on the Reservations get....
Land acknowledgments are leftists begging for approval. They are also a subtle jab at the legitimacy of the current inhabitants. Funny this infringing on the natural homeland of certain noble savages does not extend to muslims and “brown people”.
I would walk out of any event that began with such a farce.
Hilarious spoof of the virtue signalers!
Deo Vindice
I will add that.
I give your opus a 2/10.
Jealous eh?
“I acknowledge this land was taken from Brother Brontosaurus and Sister T-Rex...”
Joe,
Most people probably haven’t heard of this.
I will explain.
I worked for a non profit and went to an annual national conference they put on .
I discovered they did these scammy land acknowledgements at the beginning of the conference.
Basically they would have a Native American (we used to say Indian). That person would say, the land we are sitting on used to belong to the Ogibway Tribe. Or something like that.
It was a back handed slam at our culture and insulated the land was stolen.
One of the many reasons I couldn’t keep working where I did.
I would not like that either.
How many different tribes occupied which land and for how long? You could probably list a dozen different peoples who once lived on the any piece of ground.
“ How many different tribes occupied which land and for how long? ”
Exactly.
One of them I heard , I googled the tribe as they were saying it.
I started laughing inappropriately when I saw the tribe they acknowledged had stolen the land from another tribe about 60 years before settlers arrived
