“”””I’m as sober as a judge!””””

My stepfather was a Texas judge, that means Jack Daniels.

So just who are you quoting in the body of your thread?

You did not give credit for the quote.

The Spanish took that land from (what is now) the San Carlos Apache
Who took it from the Pima
Who took it from the Hohokam

Before that, you can guess between the Clovis People or some unnamed family ‘tribe’

Just about everybody in world history lives or has lived on land that belonged to others in the past. Nobody is ‘pure’.

Fussing over who was there ‘first’ and demonizing those whose ancestors happened to be last to ‘move in’, is ridiculous

Unfortunately, the Courts are now taking this stuff into account, and it’s going to get very expensive for people who are on the wrong side of an Indian land claim.

Thanks for bringing this up. I had no idea that Civil War Battles were waged that far West.

Arizona Confederate Territory (south of the 34th parallel)

From Wikipedia: Confederate Arizona:

"The Arizona Territory, colloquially referred to as Confederate Arizona, was an organized incorporated territory of the Confederate States of America that existed from August 1, 1861, to May 26, 1865, when the Confederate States Army Trans-Mississippi Department, commanded by General Edmund Kirby Smith, surrendered at Shreveport, Louisiana. However, after the Battle of Glorieta Pass, the Confederates had to retreat from the territory, and by July 1862, effective Confederate control of the territory had ended. Delegates to the secession convention had voted in March 1861 to secede from the New Mexico Territory and the Union, and seek to join the Confederacy. It consisted of the portion of the New Mexico Territory south of the 34th parallel, including parts of the modern states of New Mexico and Arizona." (much more follows in the article)

Governments can do what they like to accommodate what they consider legitimate concerns, and they will. Government decisions are matters to be contested at the ballot box.

My argument is with people who blame and demonize individuals or groups today, who had nothing to do with what their ancestors may have done hundreds of years ago and actually, generally, disagree with it.

People who carry these personal resentments are harmed much more by them than the people they condemn are harmed.

Are you kidding ? That Indian Band in Richmond was just awarded property worth hundreds of millions or billions of dollars.

It’s all bullsh!t, but pays massively. My mother has neighbours who know oil industry geologists who the Native Chiefs consult when they are defining their “sacred sites”.

Again, the solution to that is through the ballot box.

I’m talking about what happens inside a person’s character, when they harbor hate and resentment and blame other people for things those people didn’t do.

(As a ‘Reverend’, you should understand that some things are more consequential than the material.)

If you are are a history buff as suggested by your handle, you should recognize that the fake elections we have are mostly irrelevant to how gov’t functions.

The opinions of the masses doesn’t matter. And elected leaders who want to change things for the masses against the Elites face relentless sabotage (as Trump’s first term demonstrated).

As it had been for all time and all claimed types of Regimes, including, “Democracy”, “Republic”, Empire, Monarchy, Dictatorship...etc,

No. But prayer might.
