California Voters Don’t Like the Newsom-Democrat Redistricting Plan

California voters don’t like Governor Gavin Newsom’s and California Democrats’ redistricting plan. The POLITICO-Citrin Center-Possibility Lab survey found that Californians prefer keeping the independent panel by a nearly two-to-one margin, with just 36% of respondents backing the idea of returning redistricting authority to state lawmakers, even temporarily.

(Snip) The independent commission enjoys widespread popularity across the political spectrum. It holds a 64% approval rating overall, with strong support from independents (72%), Republicans (66%), and Democrats (61%). This rare bipartisan agreement underscores the public’s deep-seated mistrust of politicians and their desire to keep the redistricting process free from partisan influence.

This might not turn out to be a slam dunk for Manuresum. But this was LMAO:

"As he was screaming about Texas Republicans in a hall, ICE was out in front (of) the venue arresting criminal aliens."

I don’t think Ganews Newsom considers that any of their business.

As if voters should have anything to say about voting.

The Slave Party will need the mother of all ballot “counting” operations to win this one.

I’m not putting it past them.

IOW, if Trump’s GOP has a brain, they’ll mine the waters so thoroughly that people go to jail on Federal charges, because the Rats have no other choice than to steal this one. How they could do that in a State election I do not know, but if Congressional districting is at stake, it’s a strong maybe.

I am confident that this will be an epic steal. It will be close at the end of the day, and then the “curing” will start.

It was tried and it failed. He’s not eligible to run again though.

They may think they don’t like this plan, but when push comes to shove most will vote for the Democrat candidate. It’s just that way in CA.

If voting had any influence on Democratic policy, it would be illegal!

They may think they don’t like this plan, but when push comes to shove most will vote for the Democrat candidate.

But they're not voting for a candidate on this. It's ballot measure. Still, state and local politicians control the wording on the ballot to describe initiatives, so the Dims will use misleading titles and false info.

I suspect so. The vast majority of the rat voters are just drones who automatically vote D. But with surprising frequency they show a faint pulse of. Common sense when it comes to ballot measures. The Legislature needs a 2/3 majority to put this on the ballot and there are serious concerns about being able to do it all in one election, first the constitutional amendment, then voting in the ballots. There’s no time for two elections. They have the requisite supermajority in both houses of the Legislature, but enough may decide it’s not worth the political risk with an unpopular measure

Kalifornistan has mail in ballots. They’ll get their count just how they want it.

Democracy is too important to be left in the hands of the voters.

Can Trump instruct the Postal Service to refuse to process mail-in ballots because they can’t guarantee a chain of custody without sending them certified mail? That takes a signature and (if Trump wants it) ID.

The voters of Cal voted in the independent redistricting commission in the first place. We wanted to get it the hell out of the democrat politician’s hands. We’re certainly not going to put it back in their hands so they can rig the districts any further on an emergency basis or any other reason. We’re already being screwed over royal by them.

This is all just a ploy to get Newsome some more attention for his ‘28 presidential run, but it’s backfiring on him big time. It’s making him look even more greedy and evil than he already did.

Bye Bye Gavin... Nice try, thanks for playing. Now enjoy these parting gifts.

What are you talking about? The special election called for on Nov 4th is a vote for or against a referendum to allow redistricting to be temporarily put back in the hands of the legislature, there’s no candidate in this special election. It’s simply to decide on this referendum. Which will fail to pass. The voters in Cal do not want that power put back in politicians hands even temporarily. That Newsome’s even trying this now is a hail Mary pass from the opposing endzone. NO SALE!
