They make a “modern” version of that jet, with the original plans and modern jet engines. The guy who shares my hanger has one.

This was a pretty neat documentary on it, covering Northrop Grumman’s effort to test its stealthiness with a replica. The conclusion was that while we wouldn’t call it stealthy, it was stealthIER than conventional aircraft, and combined with its speed could have been a huge threat if it was produced earlier.

One of Germany’s biggest mistakes in WWII was over engineering their war machines....and that lives on today in the form of some German car manufacturers.
German tanks broke down so frequently, crews destroyed more of their own tanks to keep them out of allied hands than the allies ever did, and this thing was probably the same way. Add in rushing production and it never stood a chance....thank God.
Having said all that, the idea certainly was WAY ahead of its time.

On aircraft and rockets, absolutely. Not on nuclear, though.
It is amazing, though, how a country went from being such a clear leader in technological innovation to being something of an also-ran. Losing >5 million of their best men in the war didn’t help
In the case of “The People’s Car” that one is under engineered IMO.
I had friends in the 80s that loved those things in the form of sand buggies.....me? I never understood a car with no A/C......ESPECIALLY where you and I live.
Inexpensive yes.....comfortable in extreme temperatures....not so much.
