A federal judge on Friday blocked President Trump’s birthright citizenship order in a third ruling since the Supreme Court restricted nationwide injunctions.
US District Judge Leo Sorokin, an Obama appointee, blocked President Trump’s executive order nationwide.
Sorokin’s ruling comes after another district court and a three-judge panel on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Trump’s birthright citizenship order.

Should have been 2/5. Oh well.
If you can be detained, your stuff confiscated, and your butt shipped to South Sudan against your will, it is not a serious position to claim you are NOT “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States.
Ack. My bad.
.
Exactly. There will be an interlocutory appeal filed immediately, and it'll head up the chain.
The Supreme Court's decision unfortunately left some wiggle-room for judges to keep doing this to some extent. This judge is using one of those exception - I think it was Alito who warned this would happen - and cannot fairly be said to be in open defiance of the Supreme Court's Opinion.
It's going to take some time for the Court to define more clearly when these things can be issued.

(Nod to “The Pact” episode of Criminal Minds. My favorite.
Two women do that to the child killers who got away in the courts from soft on crime judges’ handling of the trials.)

Overturn Wong Kim Ark!
Yet another judge with an apparent correspondence school law degree who feels that overreaching is their right.
How low can the “judiciary” fall???
