It's primarily for forestry, road, drainage maintenance, and weed management on our property. For that, torque matters. Weight doesn't. Simple is better. It has disc brakes, a 383, dual batteries, and will have a point ignition. It will very rarely go on public roads.
It has PTO winch and dump, full length racks, electric crane, underbody boxes, inverter for power tools, lights for night work, vise for saws, cube tote and pump for firefighting... The trailer hookup is for three or four wire lighting systems.
That's not backward, it's forward. I'm simply rejecting the frills and BS. Besides, it'll be a badass looking truck. This being California, I want a gun rack in it too. :-)
