It’s probably at least a generation away, but people will be sending the equivalent to texts and emails without touching a device, and playing games or browsing the internet with their thoughts, and the scariest part is, they will have their own AI “personal assistant” reminding them of everything. At which point, people’s frontal lobes will begin to atrophy.
Or continue to atrophy at a higher rate than it is already.
And of course, that’ll be tracked as well, and when you reach a certain point of helplessness, it’s off to the Soylent Green factory with you.

I read an article where it was talking about all of the information that we are already bombarded with in the modern day. I forget the results of the tests but they weren’t good. Actually seeing changes in brain function.
However - spending some period of time away from devices and stuff was able to heal the brain. Like quiet time of “meditation” (prayer!) or nature walks without music or your phone. And focusing on the present (like how pretty the woods are, etc.) rather than thinking about everything else.
