Indeed.
Good question!
I would watch Nate Bargatze as a late night host. No politics, no agenda, just humor. Of maybe Jerry Seinfeld. If anything he’d have a right tilt.
Numbers-wise, you are correct....all of the cable late-night shows have lost vast numbers over the past decade.
Scarborough’s agent is probably talking to CBS...but I doubt that they’d even offer than $3-M a year (one-fifth of what Colbert made).
I’d like to see someone like Dick Cavett...strictly doing interviews (no more comedians).
Joe will never cut it, he’s too dull.
CBS is getting totally out of late night TV…they can’t make money on it and the affiliates would like to have that time back for more profitable programming.
Yup...it was advertising for guests...but now...we have the web. I miss the old days when Carson had on some very talented people.....Even better than Ed Sullivan.
Ringing a bell? How would be better off with a Gong.
He is just plain STUPID.

Q. What happens when the smog lifts? :-)
The one I remember is:
A. Sis boom bah.
Q. What is the sound of a sheep exploding?
“That’s killer, Jerry.”
HE IS NOT INTERESTING ENOUGH TO HAVE A SHOW INSIDE AN OUTHOUSE
