Unfortunately with impending reversal of Act 10 by recently elected far left state supreme court ( thank the clueless RPW Chair Brian Schimming and Never Trump uber weasel Speaker Robin Vos for this happening) teacher unions and government “workers” are getting froggy
Also remember this is the attitude of Teacher Unions as noted by this quote by the founder of the American Federation of Teachers Albert Shanker. Sets the tone
“When school children start paying union dues, that’s when I’ll start representing the interests of school children.”
Ending the federal DOE and breaking the teachers union would do more to lift up the future of the country than almost anything else.
Teachers Unions are bad.
School administrators are bad.
But parents are also part of the problem.
Good parents should be involved in schools, helpful to schools, and should be respected by schools.
But bad parents ruin children, ruin classrooms, and can disrupt the entire educational process with ridiculous demands and expectations.
I think the real solution is ending government schools. School Choice is better. Let people shop around and choose an appropriate educational setting for their child. If the parent decides they don’t like the school, they can go elsewhere. And if that school doesn’t want the child, or doesn’t want the parent, then they should be kicked out.
The leftist indoctrination of American school children ... is at the root of most of the ills that plague this country.

Once we see results from the Red states that are just beginning to promote school choice and competition we will move the needle. This I'm afraid will take years due to the tepid embracement of school reform by the GOP over the decades.

There is no getting them out. Public education must be defunded to subsistence level. We have to burn the village to save it.
Cap the taxation of houses.
Another thing that might be done is that a group of parents with a classroom size limit number of students might be allowed to hire a teacher using school funds.
If the classroom size limit is 20 students, Mr. & Mrs. One, Mrs. Two...and Mr. & Mrs. Twenty, might get together and say the school district should hire Ms. Dedicated at the school district salary schedule rate.
This might first be done when their kids are in the 2nd grade. In the following year, their kids should all be in the 3rd grade.
The parent groups would follow pretty much the same group of students as the students work their way through school.

The Barack Obama Elementary School is having an independent teacher hiring fair July 26th at the School starting at 1pm in the auditorium. The potential independent teachers for the first grade will speak first. It will take a group of parents & guardians for 20 children to sponsor an independent teacher. A completed and signed sponsorship form must be handed in to the school board office by 3pm August 8th.

The unions, all public employee unions, must go. Especially in education. They have destroyed the curriculum. They alone are responsible why our students now lag the world.

Your child Judy is in the 4th grade. The Lake Woebegone School District is in the process of hiring a new 5th grade teacher for your child’s school.
You are hereby summoned to report for teacher hiring jury duty at 10am August 2nd at the school board building....
Parental teacher firing juries might be created too.
The PPACA had an expensive health insurance tax.
It was based on a fixed amount nationwide and was killed off.
The tax could be revived and be based on exceeding say 110% of the rating area PPACA subsidy baseline premium.
