It was Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday, and Ghislaine Maxwell was preparing a special gift to mark the occasion. She turned to Epstein’s family and friends. One of them was Donald Trump. Maxwell collected letters from Trump and dozens of Epstein’s other associates for a 2003 birthday album, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Well, they can’t do handwriting analysis on typewritten text, and Trump’s signature could have been forged. Trump has never been known to be an artist. Sounds like it was manufactured.

Six minute difference between posts. That’s why I didn’t see it. I was busy posting my article.

It was type written like the Bush National Guard / Dan Rather letter was typed.

Summary of WSJ story:

The Wall Street Journal article, published on July 17, 2025, details a previously unreported letter from Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, included in a 2003 birthday album created for Epstein’s 50th birthday. The letter, reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, was part of a collection of bawdy letters assembled by Ghislaine Maxwell from Epstein’s associates, including prominent figures like billionaire Leslie Wexner and attorney Alan Dershowitz. The album, described as leather-bound, was examined by Justice Department officials years ago during investigations into Epstein and Maxwell, though it’s unclear if Trump’s specific letter is part of the Trump administration’s recent document review.

The letter from Trump is described as provocative, featuring several lines of typewritten text framed by a hand-drawn outline of a naked woman, with two small arcs representing breasts and Trump’s signature—a squiggly “Donald”—positioned below the waist, resembling pubic hair. The letter includes the line, “We have certain things in common, Jeffrey,” and concludes with, “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.” In an interview with the Journal on July 15, 2025, Trump denied writing the letter or drawing the image, calling it “a fake thing” and “a fake Wall Street Journal story.” He also threatened to sue the publication, stating, “I’m gonna sue The Wall Street Journal just like I sued everyone else.”

The article contextualizes the letter within the broader relationship between Trump and Epstein, noting their social interactions in the 1990s and early 2000s in New York and Palm Beach. Trump once praised Epstein in a 2002 New York magazine article, calling him a “terrific guy” who enjoyed women “on the younger side.” However, Trump later claimed they had a falling out, banning Epstein from Mar-a-Lago around 2007 due to criminal charges against him. The letter’s emergence adds to ongoing controversies surrounding Trump’s handling of Epstein-related documents, with his administration facing backlash from supporters for not releasing more files. The Justice Department and FBI recently stated there is no “client list” or evidence of Epstein blackmailing prominent individuals, contradicting earlier promises of transparency.

The article also highlights Trump’s recent efforts to downplay the Epstein case, calling it a “Democratic hoax” and urging supporters to move on, despite demands from Republicans like House Speaker Mike Johnson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for more transparency. The letter’s revelation has intensified scrutiny of Trump’s past ties to Epstein, especially amid allegations of a cover-up by his administration.

Absolutely. What did you get on your 50th? I got a 50” projection TV that was enormous, and cost $3000 at the time. Now you can buy an LED big screen that is a hell of a lot better, that cost less than $100 at Walmart.

Trump denied writing the letter or drawing the picture. “This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story,” he said.

A bullet took a piece of his ear since then. I would expect that would change a man. And that's all Trump has to say on the subject.

It comes from a bound book she had made in 2003 of many other birthday notes. Not the easiest way to go about “faking” a note. Trump is digging himself a hole.

Epstein was born in 1953. He was 50 in 2003, 22 years ago.

Wikipedia:

“In 2005, police in Palm Beach, Florida, began investigating Epstein after a parent reported that he had sexually abused her 14-year-old daughter. Federal officials identified 36 girls, some as young as 14 years old, whom Epstein had allegedly sexually abused. Epstein pleaded guilty and was convicted in 2008 by a Florida state court of procuring a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute. He was convicted of only these two crimes as part of a controversial plea deal, and served almost 13 months in custody but with extensive work release.”

Whether Trump and Epstein ever had a relationship on more than a superficial level remains to be learned.

"This is the BIG story from the WSJ. Trump sent Epstein a home made bawdy birthday card."

I'm sure Maxwell, who organized that Birthday Album, solicited birthday cards for it from many public figures...Trump being one of them. Bet the Clintons sent one too.

I don’t see where the WSJ published an image of the card that President Trump allegedly sent to Epstein. Why not? I hope the WSJ is positive that it is Trump’s handwriting and they haven’t been conned (willingly, but still conned). Trump will own the site.

Given the hunt for something, anything at all, on Trump over the past 10 years, it is surprising this came out just now, rather than earlier. Given all the uproar about Epstein over the past week, I suspect someone (former DOJ atty?) took advantage of the hoopla and created the card before shopping the story to WSJ as an “exclusive”.
