The classic rock group known as the Steve Miller Band has announced that they are canceling all remaining dates on their current tour because of the weather, or more specifically, the โextremeโ weather conditions brought about by climate change.
Rock and roll just isnโt what it used to be, apparently.

I’ve played some shows and folks who aren’t involved have no idea the amount of work required. If it weren’t for the ancillary efforts there wouldn’t be a show. ๐๐
Like I stated in a previous show I worked in Events Production my junior and senior years at Syracuse.
The Carrier Dome holds 50K for a football game and 35K for basketball. Around 40K for a concert.
It was a pretty cool experience. The worst job was setting up chairs on the floor for a concert. It was really tough on your lower back. Bend over take a chair off the cart. Place it on the line and hook it to the chair on the left. I only did that job once. We gave that job to all the rookies.
Building the stage. Hanging the roof over a stage for a concert. building the towers on te side of the stage to hold the speakers. Working with the guys who did it everyday. There would be two sets of staging equipment. So, when we were assembling in Syracuse they might be taking it down in Pittsburgh. Then they would leap frog each other. That way the talent/acts went from city to city on the tour bus and just practiced and played. It was quite a logistical dance.
There was one period I worked for over 24 hours straight. I attended the second Springsteen concert, we tore it all down and transformed the Dome for the SU/Georgetown nationally televised basketball game the next day. Then I went to the game and sat in my bosses seats in the third low.
FYI, because I worked there I got to be on the floor. I still remember standing next to Patrick Ewing. He was the center for Georgetown. He was a very impressive physical human being. He was also a pretty nice guy. For A Hoya!
Rony Seikle was the SU center. He was really tall, but not as physically big as Ewing. Ewing used to push him around.
I had planned on seeing him later this year. I saw him last year in Nashville, along with Journey & Def Leppard.
Pretty sure this excuse is BS to cover for some other real reason they cancelled. The dude is getting real old.
Weed will make you paranoid.
I did the easy stuff. Plug in and play. ๐๐. But, yeah it ain’t just a snap. Know about the leap frog thing too.

Translation - Nobody is buying tickets to see our crappy band, so let’s blame global warming.
