The Epstein saga continues, now with a bit of legerdemain. The alleged "Epstein list" has disappeared. Pam Bondi made the announcement a couple of weeks ago. When asked about the list In February, Bondi did say "It's sitting on my desk right now to review.” Then it stopped existing.
When questioned about her February statement, Bondi did try to walk back her "Epstein list" comment after the DOJ memo shut down the idea of a client list existing. She claimed she was talking about the broader case files, not some specific bombshell list.
"I was referring to the entire Epstein case file, thousands of pages of documents, videos, and other materials, some of which include deeply disturbing content like child sexual abuse material. There was no specific ‘client list’ as some have speculated, but we are committed to reviewing all relevant materials thoroughly."There were many reflexive calls for her termination and worse. Dan Bongino threatened to resign if all the files weren't made public. I've said it many times before- wait for the other shoe to drop. And drop it did.
The question in my head, and I posted it several times on X and other social media was "whose bidding is Bondi doing?" This was critically important and the tell was Donald Trump. Was he going to support her or fire her? And it turned out that he supports her. Trump released a lengthy statement on this:

Acosta was allegedly told by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to go easy on Jeffrey Epstein because he "belongs to intelligence", but this comes from a single, unverified source in 2017 and published by the Daily Beast in 2019.
There is no verification of this assertion anywhere.

About the allegation that Epstein worked for Israeli intelligence Dershowitz said
“Look, I have sources in Israel,” said Dershowitz. “I once represented the Mossad. I helped get 4 or 5 Mossad agents out of Cyprus who had been improperly arrested. And believe me, if he had ever worked for the Mossad, the first person he would have told that to is me, because he would have wanted me to use that to help him get an even better deal than he got.”
Dershowitz does feel more material should be released:
“Some of it is material that’s been redacted, some of it sealed by the court, and it comprises several things,” he said. “There are some that include accusations made by people I know, the people who have been accused, and some of it involves negative material about the accusers. And the courts have redacted those in order to ‘protect the victims.'”
He added, though, “Are they victims or are they mixed? Some of them are mixed, victims and false accusers. So everything should come out.”
Trump makes an excellent point.
If there were anything in the Epstein files incriminating to him or MAGA, the left would have certainly used it when biden was in office.
The fact that they didn’t speaks volumes.
All Trump has to do is still be breathing to set off the democrats.
They need no other reason than that.
Based on the state of the art availability of ways to fabricate and alter written, audio, and visual information, then a large number of files could exist to the benefit of any political party. I would have a hard time believing anything that was released.
The silver lining is that now nobody believes anything any of them say.
The only thing that came out of the DOJ was an unsigned anonymous letter.
I worked for the Fed/Gov for 25 years. An unsigned anonymous letter is meaningless, unless the boss puts their signature on it it carries no value or weight.
It’s nothing more than a “draft”. I know because I drafted hundreds of them and not all of them ended up with the boss’s signature. Some came back for revision others ended up in the round file. None of them carried any authority until they were signed by the executive.

I get that, but in the other cases, all he was doing was driving the left crazy. Here, he’s driven part of the right crazy or at least very upset. No I’m not a Koncerned Karen. Just trying to understand the move.
Yes. But isn’t he taking a lot of hits from our own side? Yes, there are panicans but there’s a solid cohort just not buying the abandonment of the whole affair.

Dershowitz is saying that two judges have blocked what can be released, so everything not covered by the judges' orders has been released.
He's also saying that the judges should revisit their orders and start releasing additional materials.

The decision to not release information, while I don’t like it, I was not surprised by it.
Trump’s dismissive statement about it though, that’s where this took a turn.
Neither party has any high ground on this one... Dems could have released this at any time, but didn’t, in fact I don’t think Epsteins name came out of their mouths once over the last 4 years...
However they are political and weak and desperate, so watching them try to gain points demanding it be released, when they know it wont, is political theater and may score some points...
There are two, low hanging fruit possibilities. They chose to do this whole Epstein thing right now simply to distract attention from something else. Always possible.
Two, they have discovered the people Epstein was involved with are not as widespread as believed and could be expendable.... so get the dems all worked up into a tizzy, only to find out, it was not what is believed in terms of scope of people he was providing young women to, or the group is more homogeneous in their makeup politically. Though based on the testimony of the girls, that seems unlikely.
I am not saying I understand why this is being played the way it is... I’m just saying this all seems odd at every level. Nothing to see, but hey heres a video that clearly has parts missing and not only that the frame is different to draw even more attention to the missing footage...
Maybe this play is bigger than US politics... and this is all about getting whoever Epstein was actually working with as an intelligence asset exposed, or flushed out.
I really don’t know, but it just seems all sorts of ODD to me. You have to know the minute you make this announcement theres nothing to see, and focus the world on Epstein when no one was thinking about him in the lease, that you were going to create a firestorm... and I can’t believe Trump didn’t realize his dismissive tone about it at the Cabinet meeting wasn’t going to just fan those flames.
Something is definitely going on here, but what I don’t know.
Excellent post. I truly enjoy the efforts made by posters like you to put the case so clearly which is also a way of expanding reader’s perspectives and understanding. There is also still reasonable debate going on even over substantial disagreements, although it seems to be dwindling. I get scorched sometimes no matter how reasonably I try to make a point.
