I often wonder why people like you need to feel there is some invisible cadre of people pulling the strings of world events. I can only think of two possibilities:
1) You need there to be an invisible cadre of people making all the decisions for the world, because that takes away your ability to control your own life. Your failures are not your fault, it's "their" fault.
2) You're really bored and you just need stuff to talk about.
