WATCH: FBI Whistleblower Reveals Deep State Operation Inside the FBI to Sabotage Kash Patel
American Tribune ^ | July 07, 2025 | Tom Arends

In a shocking interview, an FBI whistleblower revealed the deep state operation within the federal government to sabotage Director Kash Patel, explaining that a little-known piece of the agency’s rule book allows its operatives to launch a counterintelligence investigation into anyone, including the Trump nominee for FBI director.

For background, on December 4, 2024, FBI whistleblower Steve Friend appeared on Benny Johnson’s “The Benny Show” to discuss corruption within the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During the interview, Friend shared some shocking information about what he described as a “full counterintelligence investigation” into Kash Patel, President Trump’s nominee for director of the agency.

During the interview, Friend began by telling Johnson, “Let me drop some knowledge on you,” before explaining the “rule book” used by the FBI, saying, “It’s called the Domestic Investigations Operations Guide, and there’s a portion in there, it’s called Appendix G, and basically stimulates that the FBI can open up a full counterintelligence investigation on anyone who they believe could be the target, like the victim, of a recruitment scheme from a foreign actor.”

Continuing, Friend explained that based on this section in the FBI’s manual, operatives within the agency had launched “a full counterintelligence investigation…on Kash Patel at this time,” adding, “They’re doing it for his benefit, of course, but they’re going to get full access through national security letters to his banking records, all of his electronic communications, again, to protect him against that recruiting.”

Building on his story, Friend called the people behind the investigation into Patel “sick bast—ds,” and added, “So expect this playbook to be used against Kash Patel…they are now scraping through everything that Kash has ever done, even though he received awards for his work inside the Justice Department — 16 years inside the Justice Department, then working for special operations and being one of the lawyers protecting the highest echelons of military service.”

Moreover, the whistleblower said that despite Patel’s record, rogue operatives within the FBI were “going to go back through and they’re going to try and sabotage Kash because he’s a threat to the system.” In response, Johnson explained that he had reason to believe that the FBI was also trying to “pull through” the Kash Foundation, Patel’s non-profit.

Continuing, Johnson explained that he was “pinged by NBC” to weigh in on “the fight with Kash Foundation, which basically serves to assist military veterans and whistleblowers.” He added, “And they want to, I don’t know, paint some sort of corruption scandal on that.” Johnson continued, “Look, my experience with Kash Patel was, we’re talking about a guy who has some investigative skills.”

Rounding out his point, Johnson said that two years ago, he had received a call from Patel, who told him, “‘Hey, this is Kash Patel, and I have the foundation that supports whistleblowers. I would like to give you — because you’re unpaid and definitely suspended forever by the FBI — $5,000.'” Johnson added that Patel had said, “‘I don’t want any attention on this. Don’t tell anybody. This is just something I do because I believe in it.” Johnson concluded, “That’s the character of the man who is tapped to become the next FBI director.”

Yep, just as I thought. Go to FR and get your share of downers. Then go to a real Conservative site and get the news.

Patel, by his actions, seems to believe that bs about the “few bad actors” at the top of the FBI. That entire festering pit needs to be fumigated and Patel does not appear up to the job.

Yes, you’re absolutely right. Then they’ll just tell you they’re being “realistic” when they have no more inside information than anybody.

Time to waterboard them - except use diesel so they can’t complain about being waterboarded.

I don’t know what is going on up there.

Here is what's going on.

Deep-state Obama/Biden holdovers are repeating the 2017 playbook that ultimately caused the dismissals of Mike Flynn and Jeff Sessions.

  1. Attorney General Pam Bondi said publicly that the FBI gave her the totality of the FBI documents on Epstein, only to find out from a whistleblower that the FBI was withholding thousands of documents from her, undermining her credibility with the national public in the first six weeks of the Trump administration.

  2. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard testified before Congress one month after her confirmation that Iran had no program to develop nuclear weapons, only to be publicly rebuked by Israeli intelligence and President Trump before the Fordow air strike.

  3. Someone leaked a low-confidence intelligence assessment that suggested that the Fordow strike did not destroy the uranium enrichment facilities to influence the immediate media narrative, something which was proven wrong just days later.

Both the Bondi and Gabbard incidents seem to be cases of entrenched deep-state holdovers working to undermine the Trump administration by making the most important and trusted Cabinet officers seem unreliable and incompetent. The objective is to create a wedge between these officers and President Trump with the goal of him ultimately firing them. Someone seems to be trying to recreate the incidents in Trump's first term that led to his firing of Michael Flynn and Jeff Sessions.

The playbook is:

  1. Using legitimate investigative tools to collect compromising material. They are opening pretextual investigations to gather compromising material.

  2. Releasing selective information to create scandals. They are feeding false information to create public embarrassment.

  3. Undermining appointee credibility to pressure resignations. They are coordinating with the LAAP-dog media to amplify negative narratives.

  4. Creating wedges between President Trump and his trusted advisors by exploiting bureaucratic processes to undermine his administration's effectiveness.

President Trump keeps saying that the target is the rest of us and he's just in the way. Since they can't seem to touch President Trump, they're targeting his closest advisors.

  1. They also tried to get rid of Pete Hegseth with the Signal scandal, and he's turned out to be great at the DoD. It's ironic that they tried to create an intelligence scandal over Signal, and then they resorted to leaking a worthless intelligence assessment out of desparation.

  2. They tried to get rid of Elon Musk because of his close friendship to President Trump. The irony is that they didn't have to waste that political capital and credibility; Musk was going to blow up the friendship all on his own.

  3. So far, they've kept a hands-off on Marco Rubio. He's actually surprised me at how effective he's been as Secretary of State.

  4. They're now targeting Bessent, but he seems to be holding his own.

  5. Steve Witkoff is untouchable. He's Donald Trump's best friend and he's been yugely successful on Trump's behalf.

  6. Howard Lutnick is similarly untouchable. His relationship with Trump doesn't go as far back as Witkoff's, but he's a trusted friend, too.

Not a logical response. When I looked up Bongino’s previous income (talk show/podcast), it was was nearly $5 mil/year from Cumulus Media. But, let’s just say my public source info was wrong and he only made half that at $2.5 mil. Would you give up that income and leave your family in FL to take an Deputy Director job in DC with a salary slightly north of $200k and no job security after Trump’s current term.

Too many Freepers on here have just given up. Don’t be one of them.

I understand your point. None of what’s going on really makes sense.

Plus, it ruined his marriage; they’re separated now. Was it worth it? Guess we’ll never know.

They're separated because his job is so time-consuming.

Not "separated" separated.

“They’re separated because his job is so time-consuming.”

When he announced it on Fox News one morning it sounded like a true legal marital separation — a path toward divorce. He did say it was because the job was creating problems. When he took the job and told viewers that he was moving to DC and Paula was staying in FL, to me it seemed ominous for their future.

I’ll give you a clue....

Not only will the FBI not investigate you if you are a “victim” of this one particular country’s intelligence agents and you get caught having sex with children on film, they will protect you and cover up the fact that you did anything wrong at all.

Yes that was a typo. Bongino is fine.

As if you all have the slightest idea of what Epstein really did.

Where did you hear that Bongino had separated from his wife? Perhaps their marriage was already on shaky grounds, but nevertheless why give up a thriving media career, when he could’ve moved out of the family house and continued his career?

I can only give my $.02, but I don’t think Bongino is working in DC for the money, although maybe a job offer from Trump gave him an escape hatch from his marriage too, as
relationships are tenuous at best.

I’d like to think Bongino gave up a lucrative career because national security is his #1 priority but time will tell. Look for another response to the original poster, as I also have a counterintelligence background from a 3-letter federal agency.

That’s a fairly good assessment, but you also left out AG Barr and Mitch McConnell, who had to confirm both Session’s and Barr’s appointment as AGs. Barr was absolutely compromised, as there were ZERO prosecutions from the 70+ day attack on the FEDERAL courthouse in Portland.

See the bigger picture being foisted upon America? Thankfully, McConnell is retiring soon, that dirty corrupt bassturd.
