Victor Davis Hanson, a distinguished historian and classicist, is known for his deep analysis of military history, ancient civilizations, and contemporary political affairs.
As a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, he offers sharp insights into the lessons of history, the decline of empires, and the challenges facing modern society. Through his books, lectures, and public talks, he explores the intersection of history, politics, and culture.
From the comments section:
I’m a taxpayer supporting six people and I have to pay more taxes on my income. I can’t deduct my mortgage interest. That’s a huge burden on me.
Short video discussing the current tax burden we all face. Thanks to Robert DeLong for the suggestion.

Please let me know if you want on or off this new VDH ping list.
As a reminder, Professor Hanson has asked that we do not post the full article of his writings. Thank you for following the link to finish his article.

I don’t think this video is as presented.....not put out by Victor Hansen but this Motivational Group
Agreed. VDH doesn’t use phrases like “homie don’t play dat”.

Well, the commenter COULD… but then, just like all other taxpayers, he would not be able to take the standard deduction also. It’s a choice. Just sayin’.
My first thought was this is AI.
We all think of him as scholar but there’s too much whining on his podcasts.
“Interesting video about the struggles coming upon the US economy...”
Hanson was saying that all the possible positive outcomes due to Trump’s policies are unchartered because such initiatives have never been implemented before on that scale.
Note to budding writers: Include all of the pertinent information in your first couple of sentences ....who, what when, where, why, how.
Thesis form rules. Tell them what you’re going to tell them, tell it to them, and tell them what you told them.
Starting an article with technical details is stupid. Readers are not captive. They can read (or not read) whatever they want.
Note to writing critics: Place blame where it belongs. The blogger excerpted a section in the middle of VDH’s speech.
“Tell them what you’re going to tell them, tell it to them, and tell them what you told them.”
Also the well-taught seminary rule for all sermons.
Ah, so that’s how sermons are canned.
Some good points, but then right into the ditch, claiming Trump should promise not to touch Elon’s subsidies and then also put aside an hour a week for Elon to fill his ear with whatever Elon wants to say.
Sickening, Mr. Silicon Valley-Stooge “Farmer” who was Kissinger’s colleague at Hoover or years and years.
lol — true
The title alone list me. VDH knows the economy will change for the better in ways we can’t see with DJT
Agreed. He often appears on Megyn Kelly’s podcast as well, same whining.
That used to be the rules for newspaper stories and the like.
But now, if you look, you’ll see stories are written for clicks and eyeball time. They stuff the important info deep into the story.
And yes, it is annoying.
I wonder if there is an AI opportunity there, to rewrite articles of interest in that format?
I don’t want more “AI”.
Speaking of AI, I wonder if Ketanji just submitted the first AI-drafted USSC opinion:
