Weekend Social Media writers are probably contract employees who just got out of community college. On a Sunday afternoon in June…it is likely they are drunk too.
I am not excusing the posts….simply explaining how idiotic things get posted.
The social media weekend intern probably took previous “condolences” or “thoughts and prayers” posts meant for tragic events and just inserted “Iran” in place of another location and hit “publish”.
But, it was bad and maybe the social media interns need a refresher on what events do and do not need “condolences”.
My guess it they might have a form letter they have pre-approved to be used in situations that occured outside the county limits but is something they need to be aware of. Some entry level staffer may have been told to acknowledged it and use the form letter, hence the reason no one higher up the chain approved it.
