I was thinking the same thing as well. Issuing statements about an incident that happened within the county or region is one thing. However, an international military operation it’s just a bizarre thing to comment about.
No, if it was something along the lines of the acknowledging the bombing of Iran nuclear facilities occurred, and they are working with various fed agencies to be on the alert for any possible sleep, or cell type activity, that might be an acceptable acknowledgment, considering it is such a large population center. Why they chose to offer sympathy to a state sponsor of terrorism, is beyond me.
If we had dropped rifles into Iran rather than bombs, the problem would probably have sorted itself out rather quickly.
The social media weekend intern probably took previous “condolences” or “thoughts and prayers” posts meant for tragic events and just inserted “Iran” in place of another location and hit “publish”.
But, it was bad and maybe the social media interns need a refresher on what events do and do not need “condolences”.

Because L.A. has scores of Iranian illegals brought in by Joe ByeDone (as well as got-aways), and this is their way of saying “Hey please do not do any terror attacks in our huge city because we just KISSED IRAN’S ASS with a cute little Tweet.”

My guess it they might have a form letter they have pre-approved to be used in situations that occured outside the county limits but is something they need to be aware of. Some entry level staffer may have been told to acknowledged it and use the form letter, hence the reason no one higher up the chain approved it.
