The anti-Israel, pro-Iran faction [Tucker] on the right lost Trump.

The anti-Israel, pro-Iran faction on the right lost Trump. Whether or not America takes part in the fighting, the administration is complicit in the battle against a rogue, terrorist state. And the isolationist “woke right” is furious about that.

Jonathan S. Tobin. (June 16, 2025 / JNS).

Who is losing the most in the successful strikes on Iran by the Israeli Defense Forces? At the top of the list is, obviously, the Islamist regime itself. It has had its terrorist infrastructure in the form of the leadership of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as well as what is left of its military. And, of course, it has suffered significant damage to its nuclear facilities, in addition to its oil and gas industry, which is the foundation of the despotic government’s already-shaky economy.

We don’t know yet what this will mean for the future of the theocratic regime that has maintained power since it took over the country in 1979. And it’s still far from clear whether the credibility lost by the way that the Israeli Air Force has been able to operate with impunity, destroying the government’s assets and leaders, will be enough to shake off their tyrannical grip on a nation that desperately needs to replace them.

The other big loser in this struggle is a “woke right” faction of the conservative movement in the United States that opposes Israel and has been fervently opposed to any action to stop Iran from gaining nuclear weapons. More to the point, this rag-tag group of talk-show hosts, right-wing influencers and social-media gurus who can’t seem to mention Israel without betraying their antisemitic tendencies has lost President Donald Trump.

Or to be more precise, they never really had him. The Tucker Carlson factor..

The “get out” strategy post-WWII resulted in the European Union, the most underhanded and double-crossing entity in human history thus far.

There was no "get out" strategy after WWII. Instead, there was a "stay in" strategy. It took the form of the creation of NATO in 1949, and the Marshall Plan in 1948.

Whatever are you drinking.

He'll finish the job and pull out.

Yes. That's exactly what he was going to do in Afghanistan. Until the crooked 2020 election, and Joe Biden, screwed the entire thing up.

I find it quite comical, that most of the people here who accuse others of being “pro-[some other country] stooges” or “bots” are recent arrivals on FR (10-20 years or more after me). Some of those most prone to posting ‘tunnel vision’ tabloid/3rd world spam and insulting others are real newbies, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were paid propagandists (minimum wage category ;^) for countries like Ukraine...

I don’t know any anti Israel, pro Iran on the right. Maybe close to 100% of the left.

The root cause of most wars in the Middle East has been Iran. This gets us out of wars.

When Reagan armed and financed the Mujahideen in their war with the Soviet Union I don’t remember anyone on our side of the isle caterwauling about him “starting new wars.” The Soviets lost the war in Afghanistan
and no American blood was shed in the process.

” Islamists have called us The Great Satan and chanted *Death to America* along with *Death to Israel*. They ARE after us and have been for decades. This war AT THE MOMENT, is between Israel and Iran, but to think that Iran won’t be attacking us given the chance if complete foolhardiness.”

Exactly where I stand. When a country DIRECTLY THREATENS us, as the Soviets did during the Cold War, and Iran since 1979, looking the other way will only end bad, VERY BAD.

“Trump was elected to get us out of wars not into wars.”

Trump was elected to Make America Great Again. That includes stomping genocidal regimes who have a national Death To America holiday into unrecognizable mush.

Trump is supporting an ally (Israel) who has the same enemy as the U.S. - The Islamic nutjob state of Iran. How dense do you have to be to not understand the common sense to
Trump’s approach? Trump is a moderate GOP politician with a good dose of common sense. The fact that so many think he is hard right only tells us how far left the Western World is right now. At the most, he will give Israel the means to employ bunker buster bombs.

Shut up with the pro Ukie propaganda smears. I and many others could not care less about the Ukraine or Russia and have a vested interest that Israel is successful against a country (Iran) that has killed many Americans over the past 40 years. Iran has had it coming for many years and we can do this without there ever being American boots on the ground in Iran.

If you close your eyes and just substituted the word "Iraq" for "Iran" you would swear up and down it was the Summer of 2002 here on Free Republic

I mean it's practically the same arguments just the countries and the feckless Republican president have changed

Like in Syria where now Al Qaeda is the good guy. And Lybia where there is chaos. Chaos means greater danger long term. Afghanistan wasn’t on anyone’s radar and that’s where Al Qaeda metastasized. It seems Afghanistan and Iraq have taught us nothing. Blowing up countries and leaving them in ruin doesn’t work well like Isis etc... It just sets up the next problem. Turkey is on the rise with 1 million soldiers. Manage the problem at hand don’t create more problems. And I haven’t seen anyone ask if it is a good idea to bomb nuclear facilities? I just watched that movie Chernobyl and it doesn’t seem like the best strategy to bomb nuclear facilities. But I haven’t seen anyone ask that question.

BS. Not many are advocating we go to war against Iran. However, we can still support Israel without being an active member of the war. I predict that is exactly what Trump will do. Israel and the U.S is fortunate that Trump is President because if Camel-toe were currently in power, the U.S. would be demanding that Israel cease this war wile threatening to drop all aid and support to Israel. It is sad to see a few on FR who are in total agreement with the left on Israel.
