Illegitimate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky opened his comments at the peace negotiations in Turkey by gloating about Sunday’s surprise attack deep inside Russia and begging the West (NATO) for more weapons to hurl at Russia.

Zelensky’s comments come the day after Ukraine and its Western allies pulled off a massive attack deep inside Russia.

It’s straight-up terrorism

ter·ror·ism

/ˈterəˌrizəm/

noun

the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.

There were no civilians sitting in the Russian military planes that were burned up. Russian bombers that launch missiles at Ukraine are legitimate military targets for Ukraine to retaliate against and destroy.

The Russians started a war they're having a lot of difficulty finishing. Crying 'terrorism' when the enemy blows up your military planes on a military base is pathetic.

Hilarious.

A war crime? Attacking military bases in the middle of a war.

Endangering civilians. Now that is funny.

Have you ever heard of a war before?

They blew up a passenger train that we can’t. That’s terrorism.

I read on X today that Russia was keeping its bombers out in the open pursuant to the SALT treaty. If so, Zelensky’s supporters shouldn’t be crowing about the attacks as if they were a brilliant victory.

That was after we pulled out of the ABM treaty, the INF treaty, the open skies treaty and started conducting strikes inside Russia.

I’m sorry but these people are just silly. Now they’re back to assuming anyone who points out obvious facts to them, must be “too old” and should be banned from Free Republic.

As for the substance, let’s assume the Russians would kill the attackers as spies, terrorists or whatever they want to call them.

That’s war.

Yeah, somehow they managed to do it in the 1950s and 60s. And they have a alliance with China who is repeated to have some manufacturing capability. Yeah they can build airplanes.

The Russians now know, as has been demonstrated to the world, that Ukraine can attack assets deep inside of Russia, and exert command and control while doing so.

They have to be worried about the next levels of attack. Ukraine has become progressively better at these attacks.

When stupid Russian mouthpieces talk about using nukes against Ukraine, they ought to be concerned about possible Ukrainian nukes in Russian cities. Ukraine built nukes for the Soviet Union...

There were civilians killed in that passenger train they dynamited the bridge on.

It’s not terrorism. The goal was to destroy enemy weaponry which are military targets.

You say "potatoes", the Russians say "terrorism".

Your dumb-ass opinion on FR doesn't matter. What matters is what Russia will do about it.

I imagine you argue with the cops about "the law" when you get pulled over. Never works.

Why? Besides the fact Russia left the SALT treaties, Ukraine is not a party to them.
And Russia based the bombers far from Ukraine to avoid Ukraine attacks.

So yes Ukraine can crow about it.

The fact that Russia has no replacement for their bombers is because during the cold war all those aircraft were made by Ukraine on Ukraine Tooling and with Ukraine skill sets. Those skills never made it to the soviet east, or to Moscow or St. Petersburg. I honestly think Vlad thinks the band can be put back together, Ukraine, Poland, and start making quality high end arms [sic] with some mythical skillsets in the population of Ukraine. That brainpower is now in finance and western engineering firms. In that the more he is degraded as a world power, the more he digs in knowing he must win for Soviet 2.0 to work and regather the peers to Moscowvites. Not sane, but a mental construct that fits.

That your average Muscovite is a full blown westerner, a drunk or a government embedded thief goes over his head.

Without Ukriane arms builders there are no new warheads, no new bombers, and the inventory of the cold war is almost gone. Putin must win to get his toymakers back.

No, what matters is that the planes are destroyed and are almost irreplaceable.

It also matters what military steps Russia takes, but that is a separate matter.

I’m pretty sure you insisted a year ago that Ukraine was completely finished, on a four week timeline.

“ The Russians now know, as has been demonstrated to the world, that Ukraine can attack assets deep inside of Russia, and exert command and control while doing so.”

No, they now know that the CIA and British intelligence can do so. The Ukrainians couldn’t even coordinate tanks infantry and artillery during the vaunted summer offenses. It was widely repeated as one of the reasons for their failure.
